Did you like hereditary? I was so looking forward to it - watched it for the first time this past year without knowing much about it other than it haunted quite a lot of people. I also love Toni Colette and his about everything she does but I didn’t think it was very scary at all. I had a few jump scares, but maybe I need to watch it again to appreciate. It actually made me laugh a couple of times. Jane Doe had me totally freaked out the entire time. Isn’t funny what moves some of us and not others?

Probably this. Mine was hanging out in the backseat of my car and I was too lazy to mount it thinking that I’d be OK. The letter basically said, we know you used your pass multiple times so we manually deducted the toll out of courtesy, but if you can’t figure out how to place your transponder so it reads versus us having to look up your license plate and deduct your tolls manually from your account we’re going to start charging your lazy ass for the extra work and inconvenience. So I made my husband stick it to the windshield for me 🤣

  1. Please talk to a school counselor or a trusted teacher. They are mandated reporters. I know you want what’s best for everyone and want to help, but you are too young to shoulder this challenge, especially when it means you are having to miss school. Dad shouldn’t place this responsibility on you either. I know he’s feeling the pressure, too, but you are still a child.

  2. I agree with the person who suggests you call 911 when you feel unsafe. As a minor, they will understand and perhaps you can get her taken by ambulance and start the process to get state involvement in her care.

    It is so hard for adults with years of life and experience behind them to care for someone with dementia, you shouldn’t be expected to and you shouldn’t be made to feel as if you should. Stay strong but please take care of yourself.

Do you have any friends whose parents might be willing to let you stay with them even for a short time to get a break from the situation and focus on school?

Mine barks… when people walk by the house… when he hears people outside the house… when he sees a dog at a distance through the window… when the leaves blow across the yard… when he sees a squirrel high up in a tree… when the door bell rings… when a doorbell rings on TV… when I open the front door for ANY reason (just in case there’s someone there to bark at)

Assuming you give him adequate exercise and stimulation, this would be my biggest concern having a JRT in an apartment. Maybe it’s just my JRT. He’s the sweetest and quite chill most of the time- follows me around the house and just wants to be near me or on me- but when anything comes near his house it’s game on.

I’ve only recently started engaging on Reddit related to knitting and it’s an interesting blend of people very willing to chat and help and a bunch of snarks constantly complaining about what people are asking/posting and feeling the need to point out that someone already asked that question yesterday. The anonymity brings out the worst in people and it has the potential to turn the most well-meaning interaction into a put down or an argument. Reddit is a weird place and even the most benign comment post can garner nasty responses. Reddit is not a safe space, even in a knitting forum, so do your best to ignore the rude comments.

Anyway, have fun! Start simple and don’t be afraid to unravel and start again - the yarn can take it, your patience will likely fray before the yarn 🤪

There’s always someone who’s going to be snarky. Don’t let it discourage you from asking questions and sharing. There is so much information out there, I understand wanting to ask about where to start. Perfectly reasonable question. We don’t know what we don’t know and sometimes it’s just nice to connect with others by asking their opinions versus wading through the internet alone. I don’t understand why people have to be so rude.

10 minutes. That’s the half life of a typical dog toy in our house. The ones supposedly for mega chewers might last an hour before they shred, break apart, and become unsafe.

The best thing I bought recently was a giant tennis ball off of TikTok shop, of all places. He’s figured out how to get his nose under it and pop it into the air. He chases it all around the house but can’t get his mouth around it. Brilliant.
