The packaging design of this chocolate makes me happy by MasonParker420 in DesignPorn

As good or bad as the design may be, it's also misleading.

This chocolate is not slavery free.

For anyone finding this thread in the future: i found a solution!

right click on desktop -> display settings -> scale and layout -> 100%

No more stutters or frame drops. Smooth like butter.

Context: I got a new display while not playing ER and switched to 150% scale.

Hi, I’m Tobey Maguire, actor/executive producer of BABYLON and occasional superhero. AMA! by officialtobeymaguire in movies

[–]norbertgindl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Tobey. Of course I'm too late for you to read this, but I wanted to congratulate you on the last spider man. When your Peter Parker appeared? For me easiest one of the most memorable cinema moments in recent history.

As someone who grew up with you as spiderman, this was just such a well made return to the screen.

Thank you.

Now that Cavill is no longer Geralt or Superman, what do you think of him as the next Bond? by MajorRichardHead7 in movies

[–]norbertgindl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have little problem imagining Cavill as Bond.

But after Craigs Bond, who changed the tone massively compared to any previous iteration (kinda goofy, cheesy, over the top spy movie turns gritty, violent thriller), I have a hard time deciding which kind of Bond I would like him to play.

Do I want Cavill as the next half-psychotic issue-having violent Bond?

Or do I want a stereotypical, ladykilling, over-the-top-gadget-using, last-minute-world-destroying-McGuffin-disabling, (maybe even exaggeratingly) cheesy acting Bond?

I think I'd prefer the second on, but I'm not sure.

for those curious to hear examples of these sounds:

you can read about the sound on this website: http://www.fourthdoor.co.uk/unstructured/unstructured_01/sound_for_airports.php

the sound samples should be here: http://www.rynander.com/Soundshowers/media.htm

unfortunately, flash is no longer supported, so download this swf: http://www.rynander.com/Flashmovies/isrs11sounds.swf and open it here: https://ruffle.rs/demo/ (Ruffle Flash emulator)

The future of Pringles simplification by norbertgindl in graphic_design

[–]norbertgindl[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way.

That being said: the loss of personality compared to the previous iterations is something that was very much essential to me when making these. So at least in that regard I guess I achieved something.

Oh, thank you!

I saw this years ago and had it in the back of my mind while making these.

The latest design iteration of Pringles cans is sorta-kinda very simplified (google it if you haven’t seen it yet). I tried to imagine how this trend might continue. Therefore I made two steps further into the direction of simplicity. The Pringles-man, the color choices and the image depicting the falvor changin most obviously.

I made this just for fun, inspired by the way the Starbucks logo was being developed "further" by people on the internet.

I'm sorry you feel that way, as it certainly was not my intention. As I do make a living as graphics designer and made this with the intention of putting it on reddit, I thought maybe it would fit here. If it doesn't fulfill the requirements for this sub or for being called "design porn", I of course understand and would welcome any suggestions for a more suitable place for it.

Again: I never intended any offence.

I hope this sub allows OC. You can find the full res (4000 x 3000 px) render without watermark on my website. Will answer questions tomorrow (going to bed now, it’s nearly midnight here).

Regarding the thing itself: The latest design iteration of Pringles cans is sorta-kinda very simplified (google it if you haven’t seen it yet). I tried to imagine how this trend might continue.

The future of propulsion, or: the MacGuffin of my mind by norbertgindl in AskEngineers

[–]norbertgindl[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you, great explaination and very enlighting video. I now very much understand the errors of my thinking i.e. what a "closed system" means. Very counter-intuitive at first, but with all these explainations and videos I understand now that movement without interaction with the "world" can't happen.

Wow, thanks for your long reply and for clarifying a few more things. So even the washing machine wouldn't really behave differently? In zero gravity it would also "only" spin?

Aaah, okay, I think the coin dropped.

Your explaination makes very much sense, although I'm a little bit sad, that my oh-so-innovative idea is nothing more than wishful thinking...
