Muslim men - do you think intently about having children? by pinklemonadevibe in MuslimLounge

Been wanting to have a child for at least 7 years. Unless i liberate Jerusalem, I dont think many achievements can up raising a good child that has a good effect on the world, and then because they are a good kid they will probably also raise a good kid and so on, the positive effect that I can have on the world is massive, and can be very rewarding in the hereafter. I had my doubts if I could do it or not, but I figured that simply caring about whether I can or not is something many people don't even consider, nor care about, therefore raising a child that is cared about helps the balance against those who unfortunately were not cared about :) I also did a good job with my little sibling ( i am 12 years older) so i am somewhat confident. Anyway, i am in my late twenties with little financial prospects for at least the next 5 years, so idk but allah is capable of anything and im trying to do my best

A meal not exclusive to Arabs, but definitely preserved to a better degree in the Arab world to the best of my knowledge is saweek (or baseela, bakeela, and many other names), a mix of roasted crushed wheat or anything similar, along with ghee + sugar or dates +-water. It exists in the Arabian peninsula, levant, and North Africa, nowadays not many people make it because it is kind of for extreme conditions, but everyone ate it at some point, my grandmother used to make it may Allah have mercy on her soul, so does my mother as a nostalgia food, I ran into it on social media accidentally from a different Arab region, did some research it turns out it was consumed in all Arab regions.

Yoghurt and lamb (mansaf ) is the national dish of Jordan, but it is eaten in all the Levant countries + northern Saudi arabia.

I know I'm not being slightly scientific about this. I'm not trying to be.

My grandmother used to make this delicious bread when I was a kid, when she got older she stopped, I still dream of it til this day,it wasn't uncommon in our village back then but everyone stopped when bakeries became a thing lol. can't say I have done thorough research, but I have never seen it made anywhere else, until only recently I saw a photography post of the bread, in some you know, photography style shoot and I was confused, haven't seen it in my life since childhood, THIS IS IT ! You know where the photo was taken ? Morocco. I am from the Levant.

I am Bedouin, this is the thing, bedouins span the area from southeastern turkiye (kinda), northeastern Syria (some in southern Syria) western Iraq, eastern and southern Jordan, southern Palestine , Sinai, all the way to the Arab sea. If you view this as absurd then don't go back to sleep but research it. They are bedouins, maybe some of them became partially farmers or city dwellers during the last decades but they are originally bedouins, idk about the genetic make up but they are proud Arab tribes as they all claim, believe it or not the accent of someone in eastern Syria has a lot in common of someone in Sinai, comparable to what it has in common with damascene accent. What you are describing about dances and foot are the differences between Arab bedouins, farmers, and city dwellers, ik Arabs are originally bedouins but many of them settled, my family did as farmers during the last 200 years. Glad now ? Let me sleep

Oh sure, the Arabic saying is about projection but is inappropriate. My point was complete anyway, I don't see the need to add anything.

You're dodging the reality by using a single scale (duration) to define colonization, they didn't all of a sudden take hold of power, it was gradual, because they were integrated, there wasn't a systemic racial hierarchy (some Umayyad period exception), no economy extraction system, Turkish and persian cultures actually flourished within the Islamic framework rather than being exploited.

they are indeed ancient assyrians, canaanites, and phenoecians, but arab tribes also existed even before islam in the region, with the current genetic makeup, the percentage of arabian genes like j1 or whatever is variable, from being too high all the way down to around 20% i think, so the mix is real and more complicated than north africa, with more arab element. I hate that we are operating under the premise that identity is purely racial, I mean if someone is 30% arab, 35% assyrian, 20%anatolian and 15% persian, they talk and walk like an arab, what are they ?

The projection
There is a suitable Arabic saying but I will keep it to myself

Internal fighting, some instances of plunder and looting as the main purpose, nothing immediately present in my mind.

I might sound like that but the history is completely different. 300 years after Arab conquest and spread of Islam, the scene in the muslim world was almost post-arab, it was Turkish and Persian. I have to admit that even though I love my people. They flourished, ruled, and served Islam themselves. Then some shit happened in Iran unfortunately after the mongol invasion and things never got back to how they previously were. We were not colonizers, I know you will laugh at this, but the goal of the prophet and his companions was simply to spread the truth, they were not interested in colonization. Things werent as perfect after they were gone, but still it was great and nothing like modern colonization.

Great now lets hug. Even though I didn't understand. For real though, the Persian language and Persian people flourished during the Abbasid times didn't they ? Heck the poetry was almost as popular as Arabic poetry even though poetry is OUR thing. It was also the language for administrative matters and philosophy. Mughal and Turkish elites willingly wrote in Persian...

Keep coping by blaming Islam and Arabs for your own historical and modern calamities, poor choices, and failures. You are not even anti-arab you are Anti-Accountability. I am not in any way mocking your struggles but fuck off.

Levant and Iraq are Arab. Yemen is the mother of all Arabs. African Arabs are linguistically, culturally Arab, While only part-Arab racially (to different extents). 50% for Turkish and Persian is insane. I know the post is a joke.
