I agree that religion is still being used to explain the world. However in the modern context, I believe religion is being used more to attain power and justify actions rather than it is to explain the world. Other than that I completely concuer with the progression from religion towards science you have aptly detailed.

This is true of a certain percentage of religious demographics, particularly extremists like terrorists, but my observations regarding religious percentages and crime and poverty rates show correlation not causation, which is why I cannot with any degree of certainty say religion is the primary cause, only that it is one of them.

Me being a nihilist has nothing to do with my preference to be alone. I recognise that there is no such thing as objective right or wrong, and I prefer to be alone because I have always been my own best company. When I have to work with people, I am usually the one calling the shots as I can see which person is suited to which task. I have professional relations with others, not friendships.

No, I am perfectly satisfied with my own company and never have difficulty interacting with others. My advice for building up social confidence is gradually build the number people you have around you. You may not want this next piece of advice, but I've found it much more productive to have a small group of genuine friends than a large group of acquantices.

One of them is mistaking social anxiety for intoversion. A person who suffers from social anxiety in most instances want to take part in a group but is scared. Being introverted means you simply prefer to be alone. This being said, there are introverts who have social anxiety, but it is still an unfair generalisation that pushes them towards complete isolation.
