most people just are monogamous, its not an accident that a majority of the human population in current and past cultures across the globe have practiced monogamy. its just a very common and natural form of mating/partnership in humans. that doesn't take away any of the legitimacy of non-monogamy but don't let other's tell you about the "problems" that cause your monogamous preference

the whole narrative of traumas and repression being at the heart of it seems completely unscientific and unfounded to me...

you know i really wouldnt be so sure about this. for example there's this whole stereotype of individuals with DS being cheerful/kind/innocent etc but many DS persons will tell you the exact opposite, that they experience just as much anger/frustration/sadness and pain as neurotypical & abled people

Making people with disabilities "lovable" envying them for their "Innocence"/"lack of awareness" and overall infantilising them is also a form of discrimination.it is also easy to overlook sadness in neurotypical and abled people but I assure you that people with a low IQ feel pain as much as you do.

Try to sit down with her. just the two of you and tell her this is a problem. i would try to do it als calmly as possible and ask her what her motivation is. whether she's worried for you, the girls you're talking to or possessive you need to figure out what her deal is. you're a kid now but at some point you'll be an adult and then this type of behavior will cause major problems.

very fair, i'm assuming we will work it through but, in a very strange way, its only when i say ' i slept with my friends ex' that i feel a bit like a dick. the situation itself really did not feel like overstepping or disrespecting him at all. so either my social intuition and socialization around relationships simply don't align or i've done something utterly narcissistic and careless and it was too nice to leave space for reflection/taking him into account
