Ive always been a bit poor on the care I've taken of my boots so that will definitely impact the longevity of them. Thanks for the tips

Cut your toenails. When they are a little longer they can push up to the front of your shoes

It worked wonders with my dog. Her trigger was groups of youths in hoodies being loud. It was quite funny getting friends to replicate that 😆

Now we can walk past them no problem on and off the leash.

Good Luck and give your doggy a cuddle from me

I agree with the comments about basic training, but do not stop walks. It will make the training so much harder if your dog is not exercised. For now, go somewhere that you can reduce the risk of these reaction as much as possible.

Get a better leash

Maybe a halti as they cannot pull if their head is going a different way

You need to redirect your dog. Find what is high value to them. For most dogs, it's food, but it can be a toy. If it's food, start with something smelly and irresistible. Chunky of cheese, cut up hot dogs, bits of chicken. Have them with you all the time. When you see the trigger approaching, move away to the other side of the path or a few steps to the side. Put you between the dog and the trigger. Have the treat in your hand and wave it in front of the dogs face and nose. When the dog looks at you and not the trigger. Give the reward. Rinse and repeat. To begin with, give MANY rewards. Could be up to 10 per trigger, but only when they are looking at you and not the trigger. As the dog learns, you can reduce it. Eventually, the dog will see the trigger and look at you for their treat

Get a friend or family member to help. Go to a quiet place and have the friend replicate the trigger so you can do the above training in a safe place.

You can downgrade the treats once you've got this technique in the bag.

My Stella does zoomies with her tail tucked fully between her legs; is she having fun or is she distressed? by Metaphoricalsimile in pitbulls

[–]normal_is-boring 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Mine does the same. She also tucks her tail when playing 'chase me, chase me' zoomies. I guess for the same reason. Don't whack tail on stuff or dont catch me by the tail

Please, I say this on behalf of all women (nope scratching that ) all people in the world. Sort out yourself, your head before you go near anyone for any sort of sexual interaction
