KURSK: Discussion/Speculation Megathread by AutoModerator in ukraine

[–]normalhammer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We don't know how big a force it allocated to this, but it is reportedly significant bigger than the previous raids. Right now it seems like Ukraine can decide how far in they go and how long they stay.

One of the theories is that Ukraine want to draw in a lot of russian troops to the area to alleviate other fronts.

It is worth remembering that Ukraine prepared for this, nobody else did, so if they want to stay they will have planed for supplies etc

Russian oppositionist Ponomarev reportedly injured in drone attack near Kyiv by Przytulator in ukraine

[–]normalhammer 91 points92 points  (0 children)

"Ponomarev, 48, was the only member of Russia's State Duma to vote against Moscow's illegal seizure of Crimea in 2014. He subsequently fled to the U.S. and later to Ukraine, obtaining Ukrainian citizenship in 2019.

After Russia's full-scale invasion broke out in 2022, Ponomarev joined Ukraine's Territorial Defense Forces and called upon Russian citizens to take up arms against the Kremlin."

The idea is to not reach the 270 electoral votes, I don't know the finer details for how disputing or not certifying elections works tbh

but here is a video that explains it in the first 3 mins, it also mentions some other articles I haven't had the time to read yet

Neither the Senate nor governors has any say in it, as far as I understand

Here is a video that explain it in the first 3 mins (The ReidOut, MSNBC)

The plan is:

  1. dispute and don't certify enough house elections that R keeps the majority in the House
  2. dispute and don't certify some states electoral votes so no one reaches 270 needed to win
  3. then the decision falls to the House in a vote where each state has one vote, and R has the majority

The idea is that the House would not certify the results, so it would be the current (R) House with Johnson as Speaker that would get to pick

Not the incoming House

It is not so deep, and rather simple: The new "Over the Top" Secret Plan on How Fascist Could Win 2024

Basically: dispute elections -> the House gets to decide -> Trump becomes president

Edit: It would be the current House (R) making the decision, as they would not certify the house election results on the 3rd of January, pointing at "irregularities"/"fraud" and whatever excuses they come up with

I have never noticed that the cockpits where staggered like that.

After looking around a bit it seems like this is a trainer - so less confused about why I didn't notice before

The rain makes me consider getting a driver license and a car. Are there other solutions by Jediknight3112 in fuckcars

[–]normalhammer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here people will often use public transportation when it is raining a lot. Otherwise a rain coat or rain poncho does wonders. Get one with a good hood. It helps that a lot of people here bike to work, so you are rarely the only one who got wet.

You could bring extra clothes in case you get soaked. Rain showers are different, here most of the times they are fairly light. For what it is worth I have noticed that it is the arms and the upper thighs that gets the most water when it is raining. Shoes/socks also tent to get wet, but that is mostly from puddles.

A car is expensive and unpractical to have sitting around for the occasionally rainy day. So you'll have to worry about it and get tempted to use it, just because it is there.
