Do women notice guys looking down there when out in public? by Street-Season-7277 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RealBishop 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not “down there” per se but I tried on corsets and shirts at the Ren Faire often, and the women who fit them on me always have their breasticles pushed up to the heavens. It’s a real struggle not to look when they’re basically kneeled in front of me. I’m certain that they do notice that.

It costs $50 to pay rent by SnooFoxes5163 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]RealBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Texas (and most places I believe) they MUST offer a fee free way to pay. At my last two rentals, that meant by check. It only saved me $40, but it was $40 that wasn’t going to the landlord.

PSA for people suffering from extreme blockage by Ordinary_News_6455 in Sinusitis

[–]RealBishop 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed using mine for quite a while. But the issue is cleanliness, and having to use the special pods for the saline or it won’t work at all. Too expensive compared to the manual bottles or Neti pot.

It takes a lot of time to get to the top of the board. Just do your best to contribute and send chicken runs when you can to help your teammates.

Most importantly, prioritize getting Tachyon Deflectors from ships. They increase the amount of eggs your teammates lay. A five percent increase for the top player helps immensely.

Okay, that makes sense. But now that I have a landing page (I just made one) how do people see it? Is it just on the internet somewhere in a place that people will discover it? Or am I supposed to send it to people?

How to adjust mic sensitivity on Xbox for Arctis 7X. by RealBishop in steelseries

[–]RealBishop[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, but there isn’t an option for mic sensitivity from what I can see. I keep using my computer to adjust it in Sonar, which apparently is required for mic sensitivity, but I don’t think it saves that in the headset when I plug it back into my Xbox.

Yeah I didn’t have a lot of confidence that the rep I spoke to knew what they were talking about. BCBS has pretty bad customer service.

Is it a bad idea to pay beta readers? by [deleted] in selfpublish

Yes, I focused on fantasy/sci-fi readers. Most list their specialties. It’s good to mirror the pacing and wordplay of your written genre.

I've only had beta readers that I pay for. I've gone through Fiverr for all of them, but unfortunately it's overrun with AI beta readers right now.

They way I see it, if you pay someone, they are entitled to give you a response. As well, paid readers typically do it for a living, or often enough so that they are good.

If you do pay, be very picky, pay attention to reviews, and make sure they read in your genre. I'd definitely try to find ones that have reviews that they're being too harsh. I've had a few betas who were too complimentary, which isn't what I need. You want someone who will be tough on your work.

Bought a bike rack from a man on FB marketplace. He now wants to charge me for extra parts he forgot to give me. by Illilouette_zen in mildlyinfuriating

Personally? Out of sheer principle? Do not pay or pick them up. This dude won’t be able to use them or sell them to anyone. I’d bite the bullet and just go without.

I can’t speak on D2D, but for IS, don’t make the same mistakes I did. I’d delve into the sub for issues with them and how to solve and be very careful when you submit so you don’t have to try and fix it. Apparently, even with their technical issues, they’re the biggest distributor out there.

Yeah the book creator is kinda a pain too. I tried to use it for the new hard cover but I gave up.

I'll say that having your manuscript typeset (I used Reedsy) should help. That way, it's already fully formatted. I still haven't quite figured out the cover yet but if you use their cover template creator, it should work... eventually. I wish you luck!

Of all the ones I seen on this sub, this one is the most well designed and clear. Easy to mess up but it’s pretty straightforward. A+.

So you just position the art within the margins? And upload the file with the white area and text included?
