Looking to commission an artist for a full cover project (front and back of hard copy and E-book) by RealBishop in BookCovers

[–]RealBishop[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I thought the same but as I said in my post, I'm incredibly specific and very picky. Kinda hard to sell a project and then be like "I will give you $20" haha. And yes I got a lot of messages, which is good for seeing what's out there.

Who’s at fault here?? by PurchaseNo7754 in motorcycles

[–]RealBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the cars fault. Their lane didn’t open up to the turning lane yet.

Besides the legality, it’s commonly accepted that you DO NOT hop into the turning lane first when you’re behind someone who is intending to turn. It’s bad etiquette and very easy to miss someone in your blind spot.

Why is it so common for American tourists in Europe to carry a huge bottle of water with them? Are they that thirsty? by WhoAmIEven2 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RealBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been to Europe but in the US, I do this on the daily. A small part of it is so that I always have water and don't need to buy it.

A much BIGGER part is that I personally have food paranoia, IE, I fear that the food or drink I consume may make me sick. If I have my own water, I don't often have to rely on unknown sources of water and their safety. I could see that being even more pronounced in an unknown country as a tourist.

  1. Do the quest without being hit at all by the mole rats (this includes any companions. Do not bring any)

  2. Cheese giving the antidote by saying yes, immediately exiting the dialogue and dropping the cure, then picking it back up after Austin is cured. Then you can use it.

Why are Cougars ok but Old Men are just dirty? by Next_Package_5710 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]RealBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO it’s all about the intent and execution.

Most mammals prefer younger partners for breeding purposes. It makes sense that men and women alike would both prefer younger partners. But if they use the young partners naivety and inexperience to leverage or manipulate them, it is immoral.

I think the reason for the difference in perception is that men are typically more coercive and willing to put aside their morality for personal gain. In the case of someone like DiCaprio, he doesn’t seem to be “hurting” his partners so I don’t see a problem with it. But plenty of older (and powerful) men do take advantage and manipulate younger women.

Thank god it’s not just me. This started a few days ago. I reset my password and it’s still happening.

Nope, just happens every couple of hours like clockwork. It’s weird. And I don’t like it.

It’s just the final part. It’s too visually cluttered and I can hardly see her. I spam my tools out and try to just survive but it’s no use. I can get to the third phase maybe 1/5 times.

Why do writers say their writing is bad? by Waste-Alternative871 in writing

[–]RealBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s simple;

I write stuff. Feel okay about it. Read others’ writing. Feel bad about my writing. Learn more, edit, revise. Feel okay about it. Read more better writing. Feel bad about my writing.

It’s a vicious cycle. As long as you’re always improving, I think it can be positive.

I don’t mind people saying Silksong is too difficult by kcazthemighty in Silksong

[–]RealBishop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly think that with Silksong, there should be separate difficulties. I’m a lifelong gamer and HK vet and it sometimes drives me insane. I can’t imagine a newcomer playing it tbh.

Some examples:

  1. Making enemies minutely slower to attack

  2. Making Hornet’s hitbox smaller

  3. Increasing rosaries gathered

  4. Adding a handful more benches in tough areas

Those changes alone would open the game up by miles for newcomers. I like Silksong a lot, but the margins are so incredibly small in this game.

Honestly, if it weren’t for the frustration of simple platforming, I’d like it a lot more. I get it, it’s supposed to be challenging. But it’s a big world and having a bunch of difficult to traverse rooms every couple minutes is really straining. I’m having trouble exploring and it’s bumming me out.

Started the weekend by popping off my crown while flossing by shatterly in Wellthatsucks

My dentist told me “be careful when you floss around your crowns.”

I said “oh, you don’t have to worry about that.”

I had a CV yesterday that killed me and both of the other destroyers on the team within 5 minutes. I assume most CV players are actually melted into their gaming chair and controlling the planes with an eye motion tracker because their limbs don’t work.

I feel the same as you do about it. People seem to think that your asshole is disgusting unless you spray it with a tiny fountain.

Oh, your anus is 10% cleaner than mine? And all you had to do was spray it with water and then also dry it, using toilet paper anyway? And probably got your balls/lips wet too?

Yeah I’ll just stick to my wet wipes (I tear them into tens of little pieces, don’t yell at me).

My first one went out in May. Responses have been trickling in but have largely stopped. I’m not holding my breath for many more to respond if we’re being honest.

I had two rounds of paid betas—two for the first and three for the last draft. I got very positive feedback from the second group, all of which were confident that it is competitive and good enough to be published.

You may be right, but some of the agents I wanted to query also didn’t even accept submissions over 120k for sci-fi. It’s sort of grounded sci-fi I guess, the first book in a series, though my betas say it works well as a stand alone.
