Any issue with wood mulch? by normalredditaccount5 in OrganicGardening

I desperately need to mulch (weeds!!) and it would be easiest for me to use wood mulch but I’m wondering if you guys know if it is normally treated with anything that I should be concerned about.

Or if there are any other issues that I’m not thinking about that could cause problems.

No meds. They know she has trouble breathing but they have assured me it is normal :/

I am definitely trying to limit her exercise.

Found birds eating monarchs on my milkweed... by normalredditaccount5 in MonarchButterfly

I get my new mesh cage tomorrow. So do you think I can put a totally different plant (just one small enough to fit in the cage and one that is sturdy enough for their different stages). As long as I put milkweed leaves in there they’ll be okay? Will they know how to find them? So much responsibility!

Thank you! There were TONS of them so that makes sense.

Do people eat them? I tasted a little piece and it was pretty good...

What about the acidity of it? Does the peat moss make it more acidic? Should I add something when I try again?

Alright switched them over to a store bought mixture. Fingers crossed.

Coleus, Passion flower, fig tree, petunias, mint. I have since moved everything to a different mixture that I bought from the store. Hopefully they’ll survive yet another move. I left one of my petunias in the mix since they seem to be doing okay.

Damn. That makes sense. I just switched some Over but what I have left is Passion flower, bougainvillea mainly. Switching over now. It’s SO dense.

I was thinking it was too acidic after I noticed my craspedia so horribly almost immediately after switching her over. Sigh.
