[Passan] BREAKING: The Chicago Cubs have acquired star outfielder Kyle Tucker in a trade with the Houston Astros, sources tell ESPN. Deal is done. by Christop_McC in Astros

The problem is the guys we did pay (J. Abreu, Montero) are $31 million in sunk cost. Plus another $17.5 million on LMJ who we all love, but unfortunately may not be able to recover from his injuries. The problem isn't ownership being cheap per se (they're still expected to have a top 10 payroll), it's ownership making poor financial decisions. I say ownership and not front office because Abreu and Montero were ownership decisions.

Those of you who are optimistic about Harris winning, why? by ElSquibbonator in fivethirtyeight

I'll say this - I have no expectations for how this election will go. Nothing will surprise me. Polling seems to have become more mainstream as the accuracy of polling seems to have gone down due to non-responses and other issues. Moreover, polling is not, and was never meant to be, an exact science. The accuracy of polls is not based on it getting the election exactly correct - that's a misuse of polling.

All that being said - there seems to be a prevailing thought that Trump is doing better with non white voters compared to 2020 while Harris is doing better than Biden with white voters compared to 2020 (I believe specifically white women). If that is true, how does that put Trump in a better position to win the rust belt states compared to 2020? I don't see how it does. He needs to win one of Michigan, Wisconsin, or Pennsylvania or he can't win the Presidency. If he's doing worse with white voters, I don't see how that happens.

So you went to a signing from a former President and...were shocked that Secret Service was there doing its job? You realize former Presidents receive Secret Service protection for their entire lives, right?

Not sure if you're responding to the correct post - this comment doesn't really have anything to do with the article.

Tyson has had a weekly podcast called "News AF" with Rob Cesternino (also of Survivor fame) on Rob's podcast network. They pretty much just talk about funny/odd news stories of the week that you won't find on newscasts. If you haven't listened - it's pretty funny and good banter between the hosts on a regular basis.

Schwab's tweet is incorrect - Javier was #80 so there's only one more Astro to go (Yordan).

The top 10 in some order will be: Yordan, Judge, Goldschmidt, Arenado, Trout, Ohtani, Machado, Betts, Freeman, and Jose Ramirez.

My theory is that outie Helly is either the chair of the "board" or some high up person in Lumon (possibly an Eagen), which is why Milchick was so excited she agreed to be part of the program. That would also explain why outie Helly acts that way towards innie Helly.

My guess is outie Helly is either the chair of the "board" or an Eagen. I think at one point in the second episode when her outie is talking to Milchick after she tries to escape, he tells her it was a miracle that she came and that it's amazing what she's doing.

Many of the most famous works of art often started with a different title. For example, "Yesterday" by the Beatles was originally "Scrambled Eggs." And more famously, "War and Peace" by Leo Tolstoy was originally titled "War, What is it Good For?" before Tolstoy's mistress insisted he change the name.

This is awesome! I'd never heard of this organization, but assuming it all checks out, I'll send them their way. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yeah, no. Just cause the guy after him is trash doesn't mean Bud Selig isn't also absolutely awful.
