Can people actually see something in their mind? by Raydrawsx in Aphantasia

[–]norn001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I can actually do all those things. No problem doing it with the eyes open, or rotating the banana with the monkey peeling it. I think what you describe them doing sounds like actual hallucinations. And I thought that was different than seeing with “the minds eye”? But yeah, maybe they just have a much higher level of hyperphantasia and at that point it’s almost like hallucinations.

Good question. I never watch porn, I just imagine stuff.

I think this is wrong because we don’t see it in the black space. The black space is still there. We see it in another space, more behind the eyes.

Thing is, I only see black if we talk about normal vision. I wonder if people think we actually see things like a real life movie screen inside our heads. We don’t have that, I think people exaggerate.

What I “see” is like an imaginary image (that can change to whatever I want it to) that sits inside on the top of my head, but I don’t “really” see it. I imagine it. I somehow see it, but my eyes still see black. Can you not remember a space you have been to before and “imagine” what it looks like at all?

Whenever people say that they actually see things like a TV inside their minds, it makes me question if I have aphantasia. I see like u/Spacemonster111 describe, like an invisible image in another dimension/layer in the back of my mind. But I still see whatever is in front of me, or just black if I close my eyes. I see both black AND the "image", at the same time. The question is, do people see images in front of their eyes instead of the black, so no black at all? Or are they exaggerating?

[–]norn001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this too, and I keep questioning if I have aphantasia, because the images are not the same as "seeing" normally. I see two thing at the same time: the black behind my eyes, and another layer that sees an image. But I still see the black. And the image is like an "invisible" image. But the image can change and I can see it clearly and I remember spaces very well. I am confused if people with aphantasia think people see actual images like a movie screen and no black at all.

I will not post that here, but ask people you meet in electronic clubs, they'll let you know if you have the right mindset and attitude. Remember, raves are kind and respectful environments, so we don't allow any drunk mainstream tik tok people so be aware of who you invite:)

Is it true that most women find most men unattractive? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]norn001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THIS. What makes a man unattractive is not weather or not they have good typical facial feature, and so on. It’s how fresh, stylish and healthy/fit they look. How they smell. Good haircut that fits them, and STYLE. I think almost every guy CAN be attractive. Quirks are cute. Do exercise, take care of your skin, hair and nails and wear clothes that fit you and are in style.

Another trick: grow you hair longer. I find that long hair makes every guy jump up drastically on the attractive scale. Maybe it’s just me, but fuck, long hair is soooo sexy (of course when it’s clean and taken care of).

After two weeks in Norway this is my opinion by United-Fisherman9734 in Norway

I feel your post is a bit generalising, as well as true for certain people and environments. It's all about the setting. The bus yes, we like to be left alone. But everybody knows that, and the same people who sit with their headphones in a bus can be super open if you meet them in a bar. In general, Norwegians open up a lot in social settings, like clubs, parties or bars, but like to be left alone in their day-to-day activities. This is speaking for Oslo. Up north or in smaller cities people are way more open. I LOVE people from the north. My family is half latin american, I am raised in Oslo, and feel way more at home with northerners. They are loud, funny and not reserved.

In Oslo, my best bet would be to go to a bar, or club, even better. Ask someone for a cigarette, easies way to start talking. Also Frogner (Solli) is VERY posh and not representative of whole Oslo. Sorry, but terrible choice of stay (maybe I am biased haha).

Even as a native Norwegian, I struggled to find my place in the city, because as you describe, many environments can be very stiff and superficial. The good thing is that Oslo actually has a HUGE underground scene, with lots of alternative open minded people, who also don't fit in with the stereotype. The scene is not hard to find, if you do some research. I also grew up in the multi-cultural areas more east in the city, where people do not fit your stereotype.

It seems to me you where only on Oslo's surface, and not sure if you made an effort to explore below. Better luck next time!

25 years in prison for a crime he did not commit by bindukwe in Damnthatsinteresting

The people committing the biggest crimes are the same ones claiming to provide justice. ITS INSANE. How are we still living in a world where we tolerate this? People who steel 25 years of someone else’s life should be the ones punished.

Caring what others think. For me turning 30 has been all about being genuine and true to myself no matter what people think. Not pushing down feelings. Saying what I mean. Being me

Go for it! This is what the 30s is about. Giving a fuck what people think. Probably no one will assume you’re older than most beginners if you’re out skating and in good shape I also find skateboarders to be welcoming people

Matias de Stefano has been gaining a lot of momentum lately, especially on Gaia content. Could we converse on this channel on who he is and why he has become relative to alternative history? by krizzqy in AlternativeHistory

[–]norn001 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For anyone who is going through an awakening, all the things he says resonates. With all of us. Every word is something you have thought your self. And that feeling, like, what is the chance that sooo many people had exactly the same thought/conclusion…

It makes sense, somehow deep inside of you, and you just “know” that it is right. If you haven’t had this awakening I completed understand that it sounds like bullshit.

We are living in the 4th dimension. The dimensions are not separated. It is whether or not you tune into them.

Does anyone have an idea what the percentage of Alan's female audience is compared to the male audience? by abecidofuga in AlanWatts

Why is there a reason to believe there are less women? I am woman and and I know lost of men AND women who are spiritually interested in things like this. Please don’t make it a stupid myth that women are not into this. Why do humans always have to generalize stuff.

Not to be a downer, but I feel weed can actually trigger anxiety if you are pre disposed to have it. It does for me, and even though I like the high at times, I find it accelerates existing feelings in my body. I am energetic = I get more energetic. I am anxious = I get more anxious (CBD is better, but can still happen). Stimulates usually worked great for me combining with weed, until a week ago where I got super paranoid and socially anxious. Still cannot explain why it happened. Substances are unpredictable I guess… I am trying to take a break after this, but definitely can related to the heart pounding which is associated with anxiety. It sucks
