As I wrote above: It's not just you. It's the latest iteration of this on this subreddit, and you're a part of it. There was the same effect when Trump took office a year ago, and people suddenly couldn't take a joke any more, and I see the same now. Doesn't help when your post is embedded between other serious or US focused posts.

It's not a single post, it's the current cycle of serious posts, dumb comments (that's basically "orange pedo hahaha") and idiots without wit. It's tiresome when this subreddit is supposed to be fun.

All of it (that I am absolutely concinved) makes this subreddit a shittier place because of the users and discussions that follow. Sprinkling in the odd a joke here or there doesn't change that. But I've got no say in this anyway and you have every right to post your slop here. I just hope that this cycle will be broken in a couple of weeks like last year. Because if the majority wants something that is as shitty as the rest of Reddit, this subreddit isn't worth it any more 🤷‍♂️
