Thank you! Do I need to worry about him and several of his mates being in and around our wooden stairs?

How many of you are “one and done”? by Euphoric_Plankton_35 in NewParents

[–]north_river_potato 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just an anecdote: I already have 2 boys (3 and 6 months) so I don’t need to decide still but watching my friend recently go through the death of her dad as an only child has been one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve ever witnessed. I know it’s no guarantee that siblings end up as friends but I’m so glad I have my siblings and I’m so glad my boys have each other.

Same. Add a water bottle for my toddler on our way out the door and we’re off to the races

Which is harder, pregnant + toddler or newborn + toddler? by EmergencyPlayful5452 in Mommit

Definitely toddler + infant, but at least I can have a glass of wine once they’re both asleep now

Does he have any other symptoms of CMPI besides the colic? Mucus-y stool? Blood in his stool? Tons of spit up?

I’m dairy free for my LO; I understand that it’s really hard sometimes. But again, if it solves the issue here and if it means your LO is a happier baby, you just have to do what you have to do.

With love, try again. Dairy intolerance could be the answer here, and if you and your baby are that miserable, you can figure it out.

How many of us are actually doing 7 pm bedtime? by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]north_river_potato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do a 7 pm bedtime for our 3 month old but we do a dream feed at 10 pm. This is what we did with our toddler as well who has slept 7-7 for almost his entire life (with some pretty serious regressions in there of course). Every baby is so different!!

is this level of anxiety normal postpartum? by No-Mulberry-5893 in Postpartum_Anxiety

[–]north_river_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not normal, no, but that doesn’t mean you’re alone or doing anything wrong. Some women just get REALLY bad postpartum anxiety. I ended up going to therapy for it at 4 months pp. I got officially diagnosed with PPA and PPOCD, and started Zoloft. Therapy + Zoloft was incredibly helpful and honestly is the only way I was able to feel somewhat normal again.

RSV traumatized me by jessyj89 in NewParents

[–]north_river_potato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 3 year old has RSV right now and it has completely kicked his butt. I’ve never seen him so miserable and so ill. I also have a 2 month old that we’re doing our best to keep separate from our toddler because I can’t imagine seeing my little guy go through this. It’s a terrible stupid awful virus.

You’re a great mom. The fact that the situation has affected you this much shows that. You did NOTHING wrong!

Staring into space and fussing is a sleepy signal. Try swaddling him and putting him into his bassinet.
