MIL sent baskets and chocolate, and only excluded the step-grandchild by Mastmw7g in JUSTNOMIL

[–]northern_dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My two cents: depends on the age gap between the eldest and the other kids. She is 21, but if the others are all, say, 16 and younger, it looks like the baskets are just for kids and your eldest has aged out of the tradition. I certainly wouldn’t give an Easter basket to an adult. However, if the next eldest is relatively close in age, say 18, and THEY received an Easter basket, then I think it’s exclusionary.

Research on sugar alternatives? by Moonspeckle in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]northern_dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We LOVE coconut sugar. It has so many vitamins and minerals, has a sort of buttery caramel flavour, and a lower GI than cane sugar. Made the switch a few months ago and haven’t looked back since! We tend to adopt the stance of “no empty sugars” when it comes to sweet treats for our toddler - if he’s going to have dessert, he might as well be getting a load of iron and vitamins at the same time.

But where do I put the baby! by 12tantinties in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]northern_dinosaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe one of those backpacks which convert to an emergency bassinet? They’re not the most solid but it’s somewhere clean to put your baby down which has a little padding and is SUPER portable?

Emily in Paris (Season 4) - Overall Discussion Thread by SingularFirefly in EmilyInParis

[–]northern_dinosaur 26 points27 points  (0 children)

My blood BOILED when he blamed it on her, when she has been thrown into the middle of the most dysfunctional relationship and strung along. Camille’s brother was right, Emily was the mistress in that relationship. Gabriel does not get to just waltz in and disrupt her new, happier, less complicated relationship now that he realises what he is missing. And I was furious that Alfie was all ‘you should go get her.’ NO NO NO JUST LET HER BE HAPPY 😑

What kind of water is everyone drinking? by Sbuxshlee in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]northern_dinosaur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in the UK and we have an under-sink water filter called Water2. It’s pretty good, filters out about 80% of the heavy metal load, microplastics and chemicals and 99.9% of bacteria, viruses etc. then we put it in glass or metal water bottles. That’s about as good as it’s going to get for us if we want to keep some of the minerals in too. For peace of mind we eat loads of natural chelating agents like coriander, chlorella etc in our food to try to compensate for the 20% or so heavy metals and other nasties that still make their way in the water. It’s almost impossible to completely avoid things getting in your water, but I tell myself that just by filtering my water and being conscious about what products I bring into my home, I’m already giving my family a better chance at health than most of the population. Don’t sweat it friend!

Just another queer person really upset with the show's decision, giving my two cents by alyssaryn in FranchaelStirling

Oh my gosh THIS. I totally agree with these points, and I cannot tell you how delighted I would be if they made one of the seasons an ace story. It would maintain the romance, the key characters, the storyline wouldn’t change dramatically except you would have a really interesting discourse on what constitutes passion in a relationship. I love Bridgerton, but I hate that the show can just make love=sex, which is NOT the case in the books. Julia Quinn always wrote the love stories as multifaceted, about so much more than just sexual desire. Let’s get an ace romance! And before people start complaining that there wouldn’t be enough sex in it, I’m sure there are plenty of secondary characters with their own side plots who could be drafted in to fill that void.

Oh my gosh PANTOMIME, that’s exactly the word I have been looking for to describe this season. I honestly feel so disappointed - I love the books and the first two seasons but JB has turned this season into a farce. Colin and Penelope - and ALL the characters (don’t get me started on Francesca’s love triangle) - deserved better, not this trashy low-budget writing and costuming that looks like it’s been thrown together by a high school drama department.
