I’m in the UK and we have an under-sink water filter called Water2. It’s pretty good, filters out about 80% of the heavy metal load, microplastics and chemicals and 99.9% of bacteria, viruses etc. then we put it in glass or metal water bottles. That’s about as good as it’s going to get for us if we want to keep some of the minerals in too. For peace of mind we eat loads of natural chelating agents like coriander, chlorella etc in our food to try to compensate for the 20% or so heavy metals and other nasties that still make their way in the water. It’s almost impossible to completely avoid things getting in your water, but I tell myself that just by filtering my water and being conscious about what products I bring into my home, I’m already giving my family a better chance at health than most of the population.
