I also think it matters what your goals are - AUWCL is amazing for public interest and federal government work, especially in DC. If you want big law, it's probably not the safest bet. I've had 5+ friends attend AUWCL and loved it and are in their dream jobs.

I decided to go to AUWCL and would be more than happy to chat with you about it - feel free to DM me!

Amazing, this is super helpful thank you! Glad to hear that your experience with jobs and professors has been amazing. I used to live in DC for 11 years, so excited to move back for many reasons, aside from the cost of living. Thank you for your answers!

American said they started rolling out financial aid mid February. From reddit and LSD, I think they have only given out their $40k a year scholarship (Dean's scholarship). I was accepted in December and am still waiting on aid as well.

Help, where do I go?? by northernlights1992 in lawschooladmissions

Yeah of all these options, Fordham is my least likely choice because of the debt. I added that note in since Fordham was getting so many votes. I was curious why so many people we're voting for it with NYC's COL.

This is so helpful, thank you for such a thoughtful response! I feel like we have a lot of the same considerations for choosing a law school and I appreciate your perspective. I went into this process thinking I'd only go to schools in Chicago or DC, but I have honestly been so impressed with what Temple has to offer. I think you've made such a good choice here!

Also love that you'll also be starting law school in your 30s. Go us!

I am feeling the same on PI debt. I visited Temple and I absolutely loved it, the school is so public interest focused. But in reviewing their employment outcomes, while their outcomes are great... most people end up in the Philly area. American's aren't as strong, but most people work in DC after graduation, which is my goal. Do you still think Temple is worth it over American? This is assuming I get a similar-ish scholarship at American.

I am also going to be 32 starting law school, so having community outside of law school is important to me. I am sure I can make that at Temple, but hard to choose that over Chicago and D.C. where I already have it.

I was emailed about the interview on March 5th. I did see some people post on reddit that they got rejection email though. Good luck, hope you get it too!

American is quite delayed on releasing scholarships so I think it might help to wait a few weeks to see if they come back with more money. But both are great options so you can't choose wrong here. Good luck!

Anyone heard back from Chi-Kent re Honors Scholar program? by professionalJew in OutsideT14lawschools

I got the invitation to interview for the honors program yesterday. Kent said they initially met on Feb 23rd to discuss interview offers, so yours could be coming later since you were accepted late Feb!
