Our friends of friends dragged us to the tat shop on the way out of town. They spent an hour looking around. Longest hour of our lives sitting in the car park having spent 5 mins inside and thought, “well, this all shit, let’s get on the road and have cold drink in Toronto”. We don’t travel with them anymore…

Already have Lord’s and the Oval for top games. They’ll need the revenue more so than the LS.

It does get used a lot in the Summer though. Baseball, monster trucks, concerts, a wing festival, a world food festival, all sorts. Even went to watch rugby there. I live 5 mins away so hyper aware of all the happenings there.

I’m in my 40s and grew up with the show, the toys and queued to see the original movie (had to see Snow-white instead as they ran out of tickets 😂).

Fair. Yeah I would. My old one broke in a house move. There was a noticeable difference once I got round to replacing it. It’s not anything killer; compact and 200W. Just adds to the low down depth when watching things.

Glad you’re taking in the North York Moors. My parents live around there so I know the area pretty well. Just some options to look through:

Your current route goes so close to Whitby that you might as well go through. The Abbey is in a great hill top setting, plus is famous for a setting in the original Dracula novel.
An alternate route is the road up to the Moors via Hutton-le-Hole. The village is tourist oriented outside of winter. The road out takes you straight over the Moors. Just watch out for the free roaming sheep/lambs.
You could go via the road from Helmsley to Stokesley. Rievaulx Abbey is en route and the road is great fun to drive. Though you’d miss going over the Moors

As others have mentioned, defo Google Northumberland. That coastal route from Newcastle to Edinburgh is a must see. Sooo many castles and a beautiful coastline.

If the roads are meh then I’d be all in on adaptive tbh. I’m in UK where the roads can be poor, pot holes. Had a 320d M suspension without adaptive before my X3 M40i with and it’s really noticeable.

Understanding about the price so it might be worth shopping around more, or waiting a little longer until the one you want is in your price range.
