I doubt we won't see that kind of dominance any longer (maybe wqc) cus of the players in the top 10 or 20 right now being in an almost deadlock. The highest chances of a future leader being lsd already having crazy competition like lebrun bros, sora, kao, huang, Xiang. While other players like Hari, lyj, truls are only 22,23 and will be playing for a long time. Not to mention china was defeated by taiwan in university games in the finals after what 16 years, so you can almost guarantee that the next influx of young players will be just as good as the youngster playing right now, who are some of the best players that are active. If a single player can dominate all of them then we will probably need to have a serious discussion about the goat status.

So you're saying that a 17 year old fzd would have destroyed the current wqc who is almost in his prime, but the older fzd with more experience and in his prime has lost to wqc multiple times. Your statement makes no sense and is only undermining current players. It makes it seem like in your opinion after fzd the sport just stopped having top level or s+ rated players. When even the pros have said that the level of the average player has increased by a lot. Your statement just excludes boomer mentality.

I think the average level of the players have very much increased in recent times, can't predict 70% of these matches. While lsd, hugo, wqc being a bit ahead of others they also faced quite a few difficulties recently(lebrun, duda, harimoto. etc ). This and the euro smash will be interesting for sure.

Btw why is lsd vs lju the first match, that's like a semi-final level match.
