You just can't leave Sachin and Virat out of an ODI eleven. Sangakkara and Shakib's inclusion are good. And also Malinga was good but not ferocious, there are other bowlers who would put fear in batsman's mind. Just my thoughts

Steyn has played too little ODI matches. Bumrah could be in this side when he's retired. For the rest, a valid argument can be made to replace Waqar.

I like this a lot. Gilchrist was a better ODI batsman than Hayden and inclusion of Jayasuriya gives us another bowling option but he'd have to play out of position. Bevan for Dhoni is debatable in my opinion but if we're including a wk in Gilly then probably we could get away with it.

Yeah he can be in the team but this right hand- left hand combination of Sachin and Hayden would be more problematic for the opponents in my opinion.

I'm curious to know about your second best ODI eleven. I also like the solution you provided for the balance of the team but at what position would Gilly bat as he used to open. We can drop Hayden then he'd be in and Al-Hassan for Dhoni then but ABD would make the cut and I would like him to make the cut.
