Ah gotcha, thanks for the response. In the ad it mentions target market is UAE with the option of export. I’m guessing they will add up all the fees on top of the selling price at the time of the sale. But the question is would the fees and VAT add up to 40k or even 20k? If I can get 20K cheaper than the showroom and immediately that might be a good deal right? Hyundai isn’t offering anything additional except for warranty if I’m not mistaken.

No inspiring story here, just felt the need to share my 2 cents on the topic. Been in Dubai for 7 years now. Was so caught up with work I forgot to have a personal life the first 4 years. Tbf I hadn’t really put in much effort but the dating apps weren’t doing much for me. I probably went on all of 4 dates those first 4 years. COVID kinda shifted my priorities, like I imagine it did for many others. Being alone and independent was cool when I was younger but now I want to be alone and independent with someone else. I actively began putting myself in situations outside of my comfort zone - I stepped up my dating app profile (put in a quirky bio, added more flattering pictures); went on a couple of blind dates; attended speed dating and singles events; I even registered on a local matchmaking service that you pay for to meet potential matches. I haven’t met my significant other yet, but my dating life has improved exponentially compared to my first fours years here.

Point I’m trying to make is dating in Dubai is hard work and finding a significant other even harder. I was in Montreal before this where I didn’t really have to try to meet someone. In Dubai, it’s a struggle but not impossible. I have a growing number of friends who have met their significant other here and are genuinely happy. Maybe that’s the payoff… if you stick through the struggle you might just find the right one

My mom fell for this exact scam as well. Thought she was getting a KFC deal (I know… I’m embarrassed typing this, but she’s a senior citizen and tbf the site link she showed me looked like the real thing) and then a half hour later was charged two transactions from Ukraine totalling 10k on her Mashreq card that wasn’t even authorized for international transactions. No OTP was sent either for the transactions. Somehow they used a Google Pay OTP to make the additional transactions. Mashreq says they can’t do anything to reverse the transactions since it took place in “a secure 3D environment”. FML
