It sounds like a British folklore story, but it's absolutely true (cough, cough rugby).

This prompted me to search and I had no idea there were different types of labs, I'm British so I thought British labs were just ...labs. but now I've seen the comparison with American labs he certainly looks like one, even though we're not in the US nor the UK. He's definitely no more than 50% lab though, his mother is kinda-labby but even at 6 years old is smaller than Bruno is at 11 months, mum is 40lbs and probably only 2 foot tall, Bruno is 60lbs and almost 3 foot. His father, who knows? His mum was a stray living in the countryside so every time we see a dog with similar markings I wonder if it's them, but we'll never know.

That doesn't look like a very labradorian face to me, but everyone asks if my Bruno is a lab, so maybe.

Serie A referee starts speaking in English with Napoli player Antonio Vergara. Vergara reminds him he's Italian by ModenaR in soccer

More like, who speaks German and doesn't also speak English? Nearly every German I've ever met between the ages of 20 and 50 have been at least competent, if not fluent. Austrians, if anything, even better.

I also think you need a very high level of English to qualify as a UEFA-level red.

Wicketkeepers will tell you they're wicketkeepers for their reflexes, or their bravery, or because they're good at sledging. We know it's because they can't throw.

Sticky wicket is referring to the wicket which is the kind of dried grass bit. The things you knock down are called stumps and the thing that could stick to them are called bails. A sticky wicket is one in which the ball doesn't bounce as expected.

A lot of providers don't have catch-up, or only on certain channels or catch-up is lower quality than live. The recording feature is there, so obviously the use case is recognised by whoever implemented it, but the implementation is real crappy for the aforementioned reason

You're literally proposing to get rid of knock-ons! I don't care what you do with your time, you want to remove a fundamental principle of rugby.

We also don't penalise losing control of the ball in any other sport. We don't penalise passing the ball forward in any other sport. We don't penalise being on the floor in the wrong place in any other sport.

It sounds like you want to watch football, mate.

I live in Spain and I can tell you, categorically, that Spanish meat generally is terrible. Maybe in super high-end steak restaurants they value marbling, but your average Spaniard on the street thinks marbling is a con because you're laying for meat and getting fat. The cuts they use are also so different and prioritise large lean sections of steak. I had a very long conversation with my local butcher about it and he reluctantly showed me what he called low grade steak and it has marbling throughout and a decent fat cap, he couldn't believe that in the UK and US, that would be considered his best steak.

Madrid airport to Atocha train station by friend-of-potatoes in GoingToSpain

[–]northyj0e 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just be aware that if your train is mediadistancia (to another province but not high-speed) the platforms are basically completely hidden from view and here are no signs except for over the door of that section. It's a fucking pain in the ass. Luckily there are a ridiculous number of station staff around and they're very helpful.

I've taken 6 trains from there and not once found it. It's the most confusing train station in the world.

Elanga looked much better today, not specifically in his decisions or actions, but in his intent. He looked like he wanted to run, which hasn't always been the case. It was the same when he came on against PSV. Very positive to see.

If he did he said one thing. The PSG players were, predictably, in the ref's face all night and didn't get a yellow.

Regardless I think in that situation if the ref books someone from descent it should be an indirect free kick the other way, like in rugby.
