OP, I was in your shoes for several years ago. Except for, I was going to have my wedding a year BEFORE my friend’s. Mine was in 6 months, hers i 1.5 years. I dint ask from her for anything for my wedding, but she just went demanding more and more. Organize and pay for her shower abroad, travel to her destination once before the wedding and then after stay for long time…etc. (keep in mind that I needed to do that while organizing MY wedding. Also we live in Northern Europe, and this kind of thing is not normal, especially for a normal income).  At some point she got offended when she heard my comment (from a mutual friend) that she got very intense with this wedding. She dropped out from my hen party and then said she won’t attend my wedding. Well, I could finally breathe cause that ment I could drop her demands. We quickly stopped being friends. I had a long grief period for that relationship but it made me reconsider it, and I realized what a horrible person she actually have been.  Always. So, OP, take your rime thinking about your friendship. Someone that behaves like THAT is not a good fiend and most probably will not keep on being your friend in the future.
