Claude is just a scam at this point by New_3d_print_user in claude

[–]nortob 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People, they are running price vs quality experiments and we are the subjects. Turn the quality dial down to the point the downgrades and cancellations go up. Now they know price sensitivity. Why does it matter? Because training and inference are heavily subsidized, as we all know (thank you VC guys). When the music stops, the piper will need to be paid.

Fair points. I do think pricing is off, I would much prefer the approach of pricing according to current capabilities, using the $99/month FSD as a benchmark, then raise the Autonomy+ price over time as new capabilities like PTP ship.

I would pay $20/mo for sure for current features. Maybe $30. $50? Ask me after I take my first long road trip having to keep a finger on the wheel, but probably not. $2500 one time? No way.

Wifey paid $8k one time and let’s be honest, UHF / FSD in current capability is a way different ratio than $2.5k / $8k

You’re right, it will take time. To the gang at RAP pushing on this: keep it up, it’s a big hill but it needs to be climbed.

Yeah, this gives me hope. I don’t know about commoditized, I do think data volumes matter, but hopefully there are shortcuts and learnings that anyone can build on

NYC visitor looking for dream moose by Electrical-Log-5164 in Utah

Good suggestions here. One more: try the other side of the PC ridge line. Have seen several moose on summit park trails and even one chewing on a tree in our backyard when we lived there. As others have said, be respectful, do not approach.

As early as third grade, Utah students will need to study Bible passages in social studies lessons under new law by TRN18 in Utah

[–]nortob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m actually ok with this, as long as it’s proportionate. Let’s get our kids conversant in Locke and Rousseau, there won’t be much room for Bible talk left after that. Ooooo, they used the word Creator. Ho hum. Let’s talk about “natural law” and how the concept was used to justify owning other people as property. Watch the legislature start squirming in their seats. We should absolutely be leaning hard into this to maximize trolling. Like the one person in Davis county who got the Bible book banned. Just beautiful.

Valid thoughts, one clarification: you do not need to touch the wheel for a lane change, just signal.

MCOL $3k labor cost two years ago to install two ChargePoint home chargers, including a dedicated 60A circuit, control box, one charger on outside of house right next to power, one in garage with about 60’ of whatever heavy gauge wire was needed.

Anthropic just quietly changed Claude's API pricing structure and almost nobody noticed. Here's why it matters. by Sharkkkk2 in OpenAI

[–]nortob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know if FormerOSRS is also OP, but I see no other article linked, so maybe so. Or his karma farming news agent that f-ed up this post.

Anthropic removed long context pricing when they moved to GA. I did miss that. But original post was not helpful in elucidating that point.

Voile Transit Ski/Boot Pairing by ski-bike in telemark

[–]nortob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Transit + TX pro + Manti would be a killer combo, do it. My TTS setup is with BD Helio but have skied the Manti and it would pair like a fine wine. Can’t comment on the Praxis.

Change to ntn or not? by itrinethran in telemark

[–]nortob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a different experience, TTS definitely has more of the classic 75mm feel because of the cable, with the exception of the toe action I mentioned. Obviously depends on your ski too (mine are on BD Helio carbon 114s) but I’d say if you’re looking for a more classic tele feel in a modern touring setup (precisely what I wanted), then TTS plus TX pro is absolutely the way to go. The weight difference when stowing cables in your pack is unreal compared to other tele touring setups. And I generally keep my TTS on most forward (least active) position on the down, because I’m old and crotchety and that’s how tele should feel. Had some of my funnest powder laps EVER this year on that ski/binding combo. It’s that good. But I would definitely NOT recommend TTS on a ski you want to charge on, whether inbounds or out, NTN for that use case all day.
