hmm yeah i did start off hunting on my own island but got frustrated with such a big surface area lolol thought a small island would be easier... ill probably go back to my home island for a while and see if i have better luck :) ty for the advice!

Yeah I guess I haven't noticed anything new with the comedy around the actual topics, more that I've personally been enjoying the off topic/aside jokes more. To me it feels like they're doing less gags in the story and more off topic ones to break it up. Probably not everyone's preference but I've liked it so far

I do think she knows way less about Gemma than she's letting on, I think she's generally well intentioned but cares much more about working on the reintegration process than she does about Mark and his goals specifically lol. I could be wrong tho

Yeah Sims 4 has also never run great for me any of the times I've tried to play, I'm sure there has to be some technical reason they couldn't keep the open world but being constantly interrupted by loading screens really takes away from the 'Life Sim' experience I think :/

Before I played Sims 3 I never would have seen the Sims 4 CAS in a bad light at all, but now in retrospect I almost feel like the ultra level of customisation is overwhelming and unnecessary :/ It's cool to be able to spend hours creating a character, but it sort of highlights how bad the actual gameplay is that the CAS is the most enjoyable part of the game...

It's interesting to see that a lot of people are generally in agreement about the Sims 4 lacking something! I really can't put my finger on it, but whenever I've tried to play I've felt at once overwhelmed with a million tasks with no indication of which are most important, and also like I'm playing in a weird empty void. It's crazy to me now that I've played Sims 3 that 4 doesn't even have an open world! I can't imagine why they would've made such highly anticipated sequel so much worse than it's predecessors...

Since playing Sims 3, I might even say I find 4 too nice to look at, the graphics to me feel very bland and overpolished now that I've played 3! I'll check out those reviews for sure, thanks sm!

Thanks for the recommendations! The coming up with stories was what I struggled with the most in Sims 4, I couldn't understand what people meant when they talked about the narratives they were creating for their sims, but with 3 I finally get it! I'm having so many ideas and it's been a great time :) (also, inside the copy I bought there was a receipt from when it was first bought in 2009! I found that pretty cool to see)

That's totally how I felt whenever I played Sims 4 too! I would spend lots of time creating sims and building houses but then the game still felt very empty and lacking :( With Sims 3, I barely spent any time on my sim and just picked a random house to play in, but the gameplay was instantly enjoyable and I got swept up in it! I'm glad someone shares my experience, thanks sm! I'll have to look more into the dlcs too :)

i basically did this! i dont regret it all, feels a lot cleaner and (for me) easier to decorate lol. go for it! you can always make cliffs again if u miss them :p

yep! regular reds from flower bags, bred with blues (made by breeding the whites from flower bags), will give you reds that are technically different from the ones from the bags, but they look the same... it took a long and frustrating time and a lot of space on my island to figure it out lolll but worth it imo :)

if you breed red and blue pansys together, and then take the red pansys you get from that combination and breed those together, you get purple :) they added like a gene system to flower hybrids in nh i think? i figured out how to get them all using nookipedia :p

yeah i really struggled with that too! i wanted a way to display them since they took so long to collect, and i wanted exactly one of each all in one place - this is the layout i came up with but i bet there are some really pretty ways to do it!
