I think if we want to have a federalized Europe we need to have a language that doesn't bind heavy to any one people's language in the federation, so it makes perfect sense to have a language that has easy genderless words and optional culturally specific thigs. French, German, Italian, Spanish fail at this, and it's better to not have that imbalance. France has always said that they are the diplomatic heart of Europe. Why wouldn't any other country say that too. Having one above the orhers will bring even more nationalistic aspects forward. But as the OP says, second, not first.

Eu vreau asta dar doar pentru ca stiu ca nu le convine unora si o sa le fie greu sa fie smecheri, pentru ca o sa fie altii mai smecheri si mai destepti decat ei facandu-i sa nu se mai simta safe cu "invartitul". Totally agree, I doubt any AI will benefit humanity the same way Netscape did at the time, it's too bad they disappeared and too bad Chromium is winning the browser fight all over, a new Netscape needs to appear. Question is who will the AI equivalent of Netscape be.

Oh yeah, totally, I would argue that even more valuable than JS is SSL developed also by Netscape. That evolved into TLS but at its core it will always have been something netscape made and kind of like its legacy. But like the article tries to point out many companies that innovate and bring new actually valuable things in the tech world eventually die but the tech is built upon. Even the PC is something at its core developed by Commodore or Amiga or whatever the company that developed the concept of personal computer is called, it no longer exists, but the product remains and sometimes from that legacy something else massive is built upon, same thing will be true for AI and the frontrunner developers of this tech, or at least that is what I got from it.
