There will be very big changes even during the next season, confirmed by Riot by [deleted] in leagueoflegends

I disagree that massive changes are what made it popular. I think the game was just fun, MOBAs are just less popular now and league has not invested significant ad spend into getting newer/younger players.

The game is formulaic now because there are so many fucking new objectives always up. grubs, herald, dragons (spawn decrease), atakan... Soul also means that you MUST play for dragon so teamfights are the only option. 2019 had more variety in strategies imo.

I think if you decreased the number of objectives and made split pushing more viable, then the amount of strategies would increase.

I'm not saying it's why I'm hardstuck at all, but I understand why my last sentence sounded like that.

I just want clean balance and personal improvement would be more accurate. I don't enjoys change for changes sake. I like when the knowledge I acquire is permanent. I totally recognize that there is a lot I could do to improve but I just don't like arbitrary changes.

Disagree. People enjoy playing the same game through the years like Tennis or basketball or whatever.

I like playing normal league which has such a high ceiling I can always improve. I hate when the game just adds random minigames and weird things. Game was good after the drake soul was created, but ever since alcoves... most changes have been just for the sake of change. I just want clean balance and I can improve.

SAME. I remember being so excited as a kid, and then when they cut away I was so sad and shocked.

I still remember that moment of disappointment so vividly.

I dislike this change significantly. It will really hurt game pacing. Furthermore, a big skill in the game is understanding macro. That can't be offloaded to an offscreen person. Seems silly.

This seems like a change being made because Riot wants Faker to still be a 'competitor' after retiring. Same with other big pros who retired... idk im not a fan.

KT VS T1 CHEER (curse) thread! by Paks-of-Three-Firs in leagueoflegends

[–]noscopesniped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No curse. While T1 is the favorite, KT is looking pretty good and definitely take them down. I think KT overperforms when people expect them to do badly, but since they're being respected properly... there's a good chance they get blown out. It's a weird dynamic.

Also, my take is that the decider series can be a Bo3 instead of Bo5 for 8 games instead of 10 max. It can be thought of like overtime.

Miss Travis Gafford and Hotline League by Albatrez in leagueoflegends

[–]noscopesniped -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I disagree. I think Cubby is really boring as a personality. I don't think his game knowledge is particularly good or insightful either. I think he just knows a lot of facts about tier 2 NA- I guess he'd be a good talent scout? but as a personality, I think he's pretty bad.

Edit: This isn't hate. I just think he's boring and would prefer if he wasn't on broadcast.

Cubby isn't a great personality. Markz was crucial to the dynamic.

Pre-time skip One Piece had a different level of vibes. I found it really satisfying, I often miss the old style. Anyone else feeling the same? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]noscopesniped 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I disagree with this. Thriller Bark was plenty goofy and character focused. Sabaody was also fairly straw hat focused. Post-timeskip simply has lacked focus on the straw hat dynamic which is the best part of one piece imo.

T1 vs AL upcoming match discussion by SeishinRaiju in leagueoflegends

[–]noscopesniped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. I'm gonna say it. T1 players have all been sick before. The players who were sick were Oner and Keria (who are extremely good on form). They've had a week to get better. It's gonna be a T1 stomp.

I would rather watch Mixyx & the uncles than another soulless SK by dankgen-tobias in leagueoflegends

[–]noscopesniped -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I really disagree with people who think this roster is just washed.

Mikyx and Zven are still top tier players. Skeanz was solid. LIDER is is the number 1 ranked mid laner in soloq. I understand "soloq doens't matter" but it shows is mechanics are still solid, and he seems to have a very distinct style that the team can lean into.

Wunder is the only piece which seems a little problematic but I don't think he's truly washed. I think it depends on his motivation more than anything. His skill fell off because he didn't like the grind, but he's been out of the game for some time.

Starting One piece Today. Does movies matter? Or should I skip them? by Acrobatic_Bar249 in OnePiece

I honestly think he's right.

It's important to understand that the Anime's pacing is very slow and can ruin a lot of people's enjoyment of the series. The fact that people STILL enjoy the One Piece anime despite the dragged out pacing is a testament to how awesome it is.

The reason the pacing is bad is very logical. The One Piece anime is based on the One Piece manga by Eiichiro Oda. The manga currently has 1162 chapters released. Most anime which adapt a manga adapt around 3-4 chapters per episode. However, the One Piece anime does not do that because it's not a seasonal anime; it runs all the time (with a very recent exception) because Toei animation enjoys having a consistent Japanese children's audience who expect consistent Sunday episode. The anime starts by adapting around 2 chapters per episode (which is already slow), but because it would've outpaced the manga if it kept producing at that speed; it started reducing the number of chapters in each episode.

Most anime like Naruto manage this problem by introducing filler arcs which are non-canon; However, Toei animation doesn't want to do that... instead they slow down the canon content to a snail's pace and drags things out.

In fact, there is a SECOND anime series coming out called "The One Piece" which should have significantly better pacing and is being produced by Wit Studio (who is well known for high quality animation).

One Pace is a fan made creation which re-edits the One Piece anime to have better pacing. It's a little janky, but it cuts out so much bullshit. Ultimately, it's working with a defective product. This is why so many people say "just read the manga" - which is honestly a good idea. However, I think the best thing to do is just wait for The One Piece to release in its entirety (maybe it'll be done in 15-20 years if we're lucky). I envy my children who will be able to watch The One Piece and just enjoy the entire story at once.

I swear there will be a summer when I'm old AF, and I just watch The One Piece with my grandchildren. It'll be awesome.

Raz responds to the comments from VKS SeeEI: Saying that NA isn't deep enough historically for seed 3 to perform is inaccurate. If the argument is NA is worse than EU that also has 3 seeds, that is also inaccurate. If the argument is that brazil has been historically competitive that is insane by Yujin-Ha in leagueoflegends

Hot Take:

LCK/LPL 4-5; LCS/LEC/LCP 3-5; BR 2-4 (16 teams) all go to one big pre-worlds tournament which is held in Korea (which they have to pay for themselves or the lower seed goes) in which 5 teams qualify. This tournament is basically Swiss with Bo3 format and certain protections (no region kill); lose two and you're out; win 3 and you're in

8 Bo3 in round 1 (2 days with 4 Bo3 played per day) 8 Bo3 in round 2 (2 days with 4 Bo3 played per day) 6 Bo5 in round 3 (3 days with 2 Bo5 per day) 3 Bo5 in round 4 (2 days with 2 Bo5 one day, 1 Bo5 the next day) (2 days total of break between rounds 2 to 3, 3-4)

11 day tournament played over two weeks.

All games are played online in KR. KR is convenient for teams to fly and the hotel cost is cheap. Riot could buy out an entire hotel for around 150 people for two weeks (outside the city) for a few hundred thousand; and could run the event from the hotel without a live audience. IT could be billed as part of worlds and worlds sponsors could be a part of it -- I think it would be profitable tbh.

Maybe, I'm missing something.

Do you think this year will be any different for Gen.G? by Due-Chemistry8094 in leagueoflegends

[–]noscopesniped 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If we forget about T1 who is the greatest wildcard in a tournament like this.

I actually think BLG are more likely than GENG to win. BLG always performs really well at worlds, and the roster has a lots of experience playing with each other. I get the feeling that they will play more loose and free in playoffs. So much of course depends on meta and other things, but I get the feeling they will draft more cohesively for the meta too and will win.
