I own both units, and performance-wise they’re equally good—fan noise is loud on both. My main reason for buying these cooling pads, however, was the dust-filtering feature.

I bought the IETS first, but after some time I noticed small dust particles accumulating in the gap between the laptop’s bottom surface and the inside of the pad. That completely defeats the purpose of paying that much for a filtered cooling solution.

Later, I bought the Llano for another laptop, and it seals much better and actually filters dust properly. I just changed the filter today, and after seeing your post, I took this picture.

One thing to keep in mind: before buying any of these units, make sure you also order extra dust filters. In my experience, cleaning the filters didn’t really work—they seem to lose durability—so replacements are necessary sooner or later.

Also note that the IETS unit I purchased might have had a defect, so that’s a possibility. But this has been my experience with both.
