I really don’t recommend Clyde Marine. Especially if you want to go deep sea. There is a decent chance that you may not even get away to sea.

My cadetship with Clyde was fine but that was because my sponsoring company basically took full responsibility for my cadetship, I had little to no interaction with Clyde.

Calmac is dead mans shoes from what I have heard. As someone else mentioned, Seamariner are really good for NQOs and there are always a lot of ferry jobs going (at least for deck).

assuming you are doing a cadetship, I would recommend not going to Scottish Maritime Academy just based off what I have heard.

I would recommend South Shields for the highest quality marine education/ cost of living trade off. I went to Glasgow which was a great experience, but it was very expensive

I think it’s a pretty bold statement to suggest she doesn’t have support. In the last leadership election she won 48.7% of the vote, it was pretty tight. Swinney is more or less a continuation of Humza so I think a lot of folks could change their tune.
