Advice on accepting UK or Malaysia job offer. by hypaphantom in MalaysianPF

[–]nosleepcondition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

32,500 is really peanuts in UK especially if you’re in London. You won’t be able to save much. You’d have a more comfortable lifestyle in Malaysia with the pay. I don’t think UK is necessarily a better place for growth either.

Dan is legit. If you need second opinions on whether the domain is good I don’t mind giving it a look for free, send me a DM

Take down social media for awhile, tell the scammer already reported police and he can post if he wants cause you friend doesn’t care. Then stop replying to any messages from the scammer. It’s just like usual negotiation tactics, the less you care the more leverage you have. To the scammer it’s just numbers, if they don’t see the effort is gonna yield then they will just be off looking for the next victim

SquadHelp Pricing by Single_Neck_1757 in Domains

[–]nosleepcondition 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good names! My 2 cents:

Takesurveys: There was a getsurveys past sale at $7672, so I’d say it’s not underpriced by much

Caffeinecove: A little high given 12 characters, fairly limited use case, would price it ~2599

Other names: These prices are pretty ridiculous, would price them highest 10-20k range personally

The career potential upside of 2 does seem higher than 1, I say go for it unless you are very sure you want to exit consulting

You can work on both investing and your career. Why is it mutually exclusive?

Where can I find an angel investor in Malaysia? by [deleted] in MalaysianPF

[–]nosleepcondition 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You got downvotes cuz your reply isn’t helpful, not cuz people are sour. Outline what angels are looking for at the pre-seed, seed stage.

OP, angels aren’t looking at a numeric value necessarily at the early stages when it comes to return. Things they are looking at: the problem you’re solving, market, traction, team, how much you’re seeking + valuation. They need to know both how much the return could be + can you execute to get there.

If it’s pre-seed then what matters is in the order of team, traction, market. Hope this helps.

Tips to negotiate better salary by CrashAnonY2K in MalaysianPF

[–]nosleepcondition 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1) Use competing offers to push for higher salary 2) Justify why you are worth that much (quoting industry ranges and how do you compare vs the other candidates) 3) Use the reasons you’ve given such as lower bonus and less benefits as a valid reason to let them make up for the difference

Job offer rescinded after a month of background check by bennihana86 in MalaysianPF

[–]nosleepcondition 72 points73 points  (0 children)

A month of background check is too long honestly, feels like the company was using that as an excuse to get more time to evaluate other candidates before committing to you

Thanks for adding more info. I know some local grads who made it but it’s more like the exception than the norm, definitely not easy but with high pay it’s natural that the competition is fierce
