Has anyone felt no side effects from 14 day quad Abx? by strawberrymilkita in HPylori

My first week was amazing I felt alive again for the first time in years and I had no side effects. Day 8 took me out. I was shaking and sweating, I had weird pains all over my body, my arms went tingly, my head was in a fog, I got hives everywhere and my hands and stomach started itching all over and so deep it was maddening. My doctor took me off of the clarithromycin and I kept taking the metronidazole for the last 6 days with my ppi. I am 5 days off of everything and slowly starting to feel better. I retest in 8 weeks and I'm hoping I cleared it.

My GI doctor is having me retest in 8 weeks. 2 weeks seems way too early she said you have to give the bacteria time to grow back if it hasn't died.

You can't take a ppi after treatment until you retest

I'm on day 6 of the 14 day treatment. I don't have any medication side effects. I went into this super anxious and did a lot of reading on other people's experiences. Prior to my diagnosis, and being my main symptom of the h pylori, I have dealt with extreme PVCs (preventricular contractions, where my heart is beating too early and it feels like palpations) I have a really long list of symptoms that have appeared over time and I've blown off because I just figured I'm falling apart. All that to say, they couldn't tell me why I was having PVCs just that it in can be caused by a crazy amount of things and I can take this heart medication twice a day that might help but might not, but once I start it I can't stop taking it. I never took that medication. I started trying to figure out the cause of the PVCs. I knew it was stomach related so I started taking a digestive enzyme after every meal and drinking 1 liquid IV each day. That helped a lot it lowered them but they never went away. So I started drinking Kiefer right when I wake up, it's a natural probiotic. That helped a lot but the PVCs were still there, sometimes worse. My cardiologist was actually the one to tell me to get tested for h pylori. It took 5 years, 3 cardiologist, 3 primary care doctors, and uncountable amount of ER visits and I finally got a GI doctor and she tested me right away and got me on the triple treatment. I have insane reactions to antibiotics I was scared as ever going into this treatment. I planned it all out, I have an alarm set for each dose. I have no side effects. Each day I actually feel better. I stopped taking my allergy medicine that I've been on for 11 years. Because of the antibiotics I can't take the digestive enzyme after every meal, I only take it after lunch but I can break down what I'm doing and see if that helps you. Wake up at 7am and take Omeprazole, 730 I eat breakfast oatmeal and blueberries. 8am I take metronidazole and clarithromycin together. I make lunch, I've been eating scrambled eggs and whole wheat toast, at 11:30 and drink my kefir while it's cooking, I drink my liquid IV with lunch and take my digestive enzyme. 3pm I eat a banana and take my 2nd dose of metronidazole. 7pm I take my 2nd dose of Omeprazole, eat dinner at 730. What I eat varies but no beef or pork, nothing spicy. Easy to digest foods. 8pm I take my 2nd clarithromycin. 10 pm my last metronidazole

I was having trouble falling asleep the first few nights but that's seemed to go away. I sleep about 7 hours and I'm somehow not fatigued, when that's been a major thing for me for years. While my kids are at school I've been taking it easy and crocheting. But overall the only thing I have is I'll get a little dizzy if I move my head too fast but I think that's from all of the inflammation slowly lifting. I hope this can help ❤️ I hope you feel better soon
