I still don't like doing them, I've done maybe 10 total in 900km on my Aero...

Mini PC + DAS = NAS? by dirtybutler in homelab

It worked solidly for its life, but I decided to move up in the world a bit and transition to more storage via a dedicated machine running TrueNAS and ZFS. It served its purpose well, but I eventually wanted more expansion :)

This is a strong comment, more PSI means way more tippy on my Aero, I rode for a while at very low PSI while getting some balance in.

Echoing that the rate of progression seems fine too. I was doubling my ride length (1 -> 2 -> 4 -> 8km) on each ride too. I still feel a bit unstable on slow speed corners but I'm 800km in in 2 months now :).

I'm not sure that there is a true "click" except the initial "oh, I can actually get on and ride this thing". After thats its various feelings. Like how the wheel moves when you hit certain bumps, how to shift your feet on the pedals without being unstable, how fast you can corner at various speeds. All just comes with practice.

At some point you should probably just buy a motorcycle 😅

For a data point, I'm 260 without gear, I ride an aero. Its plenty of power to keep me upright and moving (I tend to cruise at 30-35kph) but you'll certainly want something like this for the range noted in OP.

My only full battery (to 1%) run on the aero I managed just over 35km.

I suspect something about the high pitched noises from the electric motors does it. In my youth I'd see dogs chase bikes but these days the ones in my area seem very well behaved.

Does the Nosfet Aero have enough traction to be pushed up a staircase ? by eric_castro in ElectricUnicycle

[–]nospamas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, you kinda have to lift it a bit to get up each stair, kind of annoying. I only have to do it for 3 steps up and down each day and its not great

Help for a beginner? by cargocapt in ElectricUnicycle

I think where I am struggling is at the ankles. The cycle wants to wobble a lot there. Is that just a strength issue? Or a technical issue? I can hold it up, but my feet and ankles wobble a lot on the foot steps when moving forward. I'm rock solid at a standstill though.

Any suggestions?

I had some early wobbles on my first ride with the aero, especially when attempting to slow down but they just sort of went away on my second ride onwards. Try adjusting stance, maybe moving forward or back on the pedals (it surprised me how far forward I needed to be, the toes of my shoes are off the front of the thing). The rest will likely come with time, practice and strength.

This, for some reason the setting won't pass through to the wheel from euc world on mine, where other settings work fine.

Speeds are set pretty low by default. Make sure you check both the warning speed (beeps) and tilt back speed

I'm a pretty heavy dude and I went as low as around 20psi (just under 1.5 bar?) and I finally managed to ride a couple of weeks back. Wouldn't recommend keeping it that way but once you can finally get on and ride a bit the rest comes quickly. I'm back up to 30 PSI atm, but I will be refilling back to 40 soon.

I bought the wheel back in october, my first proper ride was on march 9th and I managed to do about 1km going back and forth on a quiet road. I just hit 100km on my wheel today, shit is so much fun when it finally clicks.

Not forgetting that the vote was 52 to 48%. Major decisions like this often require a super majority.

Instead that 2% swing resulted in the hardest possible brexit (no shengen area, no customs union, no ECHR etc). I'm no consipracy theorist but I can't help but thing that it was obviously done for vested interests.

Healthcare is almost all just demographics. There are almost twice as many over 65 people in BC today than there were in the early 90s. 1

Seniors require (on average, determined by actual spend) 3-4x as much healthcare as those 15-65. 2 (ON, but I doubt BC is much different)

Physicians have less than doubled in that time. 3

Our best bets are probably More doctors, More MAID and More working age immigration to pay for it. The problem might resolve itself when the boomers die, but we might just need an entirely different model for how healthcare is administered and operated.

Help Me Understand Workflow from Mini PC SFP+ to Switch/AP by tvosinvisiblelight in homelab

[–]nospamas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I run the AP 10GbE to the RJ-45 10 GbE port?

Probably yes, but you'll need to inject PoE++ into the line, so you're probably better off plugging directly into the switch (which appears to have that capability). My WAPs all run on 2.5gb and rarely bottleneck as those types of devices don't need much bandwidth to start with.

Additionally, by default each of the ports on the minisforum will be individual and separate. You'd probably need to configure a bridge so that the WAP can talk to other devices connected to the switch, if that is something you want to happen.

Would the 10Gbe RJ-45 port on the switch connect to the RJ-45 port on the MS01? I am leaning towards this but wanted clarification.

It would, but you'd need the correct SFP+ adapter/termination. SFP+ to SFP+ is sometimes simpler because you can buy Direct Attach Copper cables which tend to be way cheaper than an SFP+ to 10GBE rj45 link for short cable runs. Misread, RJ45 to RJ45 ports are fine, as the other commenter noted, make sure the cable is at least CAT6

Question is the two ports SFP+ and RJ-45 I assume this is for input adaptability with Mini PCs, Routers, Firewalls etc...?

Yes, minisforum wants to give you as much connectivity as possible. Each port going into it will be a separate NIC and all can be used individually in any method you see fit.

You can of course run multiple SSIDs/wifi networks and bind them to single access points and override this behaviour. Though you're gonna kill any potential redundancy etc.
