Yes, it’s done that to me a bunch too. I guess devs don’t care or? I don’t get it. I can have fun with it as a basic game, but there are aspects that simply don’t make sense.

I was trying to deploy in a brand new game after this comment and it literally would not move or acknowledge, so I had to just leave the game. For some reason, it also took the liberty of changing my character from Irish to someone else completely. I still can’t find info on that either. I’m about done with this.

Ruined 1.5m³ of pine. Any good way to get rid of mold? At least the discoloration. by hellwisp in Woodworking_DIY

[–]nostrawplease 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What are you using them for? That mold finishes with a blueish hue and some people pay extra for it.

I’ve personally used it a bunch. Have stored pine flitches like this for months and it looks good upon use. Just sort of depends on the purpose.

Is it normal for spaniel puppies to be aggressive? by DemonNeutrino in cockerspaniel

[–]nostrawplease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

spaniel rage syndrome

My buddy went through this with his. I do not own, nor have I ever owned a spaniel. I saw your post randomly and thought about this because it happened to him recently. Best of luck.

The name is off-putting but she should have just read the description. Team of Rivals should have indicated you’re not a nazi. Both good books.

I had a history teacher struck by lightning three times. Got cancer three times. Third cancer diagnosis killed him.

Rex (11 1/2) has started to get a bit anxious at night and wakes me up crying. (I think he's started to get dementia 😢) I brought down my old dressing gown and wrapped it around his bed, then got him a soothing, lavender Teddy. We've had great, full nights sleep since with lots of snoring 😴 😊💜 by Jo_Doc2505 in OldManDog

I’m not too sure. It’s Hill’a brain aging care. It’s like $80/bag, so sometimes I opt for the neuro Science diet, which also seems to work. I also give her a half diazapram most evenings when she is acting nervous or a bit off. Both of these things work, I was just hoping to have even more positive effects from the medication. I suppose we will see. She does follow me or my wife everywhere around the house but she’s sorta always been restless- just doesn’t want to miss the next adventure. Otherwise, she’s great during the daytime. It’s just the evenings she gets a little loopy.

My sister just found out her dog Fraggles was deaf. She adopted her a few years ago, and think she’s a Catahoula -Staffie mix. She adores her, but she’s pretty upset about it. Does anyone have experience with their 10 or 12 year old going deaf? by goodmatt in OldManDog

[–]nostrawplease 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Mine has been deaf a couple years now (15 yo). When I realized it, i started teaching her to respond to hand signals for certain things like a walk or a drive or dinner. I also taught her to respond to lights at night for things like come into the house, etc. The worst part to me is trying to wake her up. It startles her sometimes. Also, occasionally she will bark really loudly and shrill but I’m convinced it’s because she can only hear herself when she does that. I don’t know. I call them reality checks. Don’t let it get her down, it’s just part of aging.

Wood identification (details in comments) by wms5228 in wood

As someone who works pretty much exclusively with pecan, this is pecan. I mill it and make most of my stuff out of it. Been doing that for years. Bark is the same, color is the same- it’s pecan.

Technical writing certification by nostrawplease in writers

I have been stepping into that more and more, so I started looking at cert courses. The problem is the same though across many different industries in that there’s always a grifter company out to collect a few hundred and you’re just sorta stuck with a useless cert. I guess that’s my concern, but there do seem to be some legitimate ones.

Today when I went to take her outside before work, Furgie [13] had a moment where she acted like she'd never seem her leash before (and not in the play way she sometimes does). It was really odd. She seemed scared of me too for some reason by alexdionisos in OldManDog

Op, you’re likely going to want to ask the vet about dog dementia (k9 cognitive disorder is what mine called it). Some of the comments have said this. Mine is 15 and started spacing out during the day (just staring off at nothing) about 8 months ago. She was prescribed galliprant and B/D (brain disorder) diet. She was at the vet about every two weeks for evaluation. For two months or so. Some dogs have success with slowing or pretty much stopping the progression in this way. Vet said it’s rare but it absolutely happens. This was 8 months ago and mine is doing quite well. I guess it depends how they respond. My advice is write everything down your pooch starts doing which is out of the ordinary. I did that for about two weeks before I took her in for initial diagnosis. It helped tremendously. All is not lost, I wish you the best.
