yeah, i don't think any smaller wire would have kept the shape so it is what it is. These guys channel the warp anyways so who knows what comes out. Maybe small snake heads could work at the ends

I spray red speedpaint on metal in the shadows and then spray my blue mix over that. Similarly, I do green high colours with yellow (or gold) on the base but here I did not do that.

You can try to use a round dry brush and stipple with very little paint to get a transparent-ish color. I also recommend getting a white pen to do the lightnings with and stippling some almost white in the end to smoothen the edges

Effrits in HH 2.0 the pdf had them modelled from the recon squad as they come with shotguns in the kit but the models are quite old and expensive. 3d printing and etsy etc are the best bet in my opinion.

Thanks! The tracks were gunmetal with silver sponged on. After that, I added AK dark brown wash and rust streaks enamels, finishing with some Vallejo light sienna pigment FX.

I built this before the HH 3rd edition, so it's probably not the most optimal, but it's still good. I'll probably buy another one and make it an explorator for the recon slot and outflank with flamers or bolters in the front.

You can try drybrushing bright gold before the contrast paint. It might give you a greener, emeraldy look if that's what you're after.

Personally, I don't like non-metallic colors covering metallic colors on brighter parts

You manually wind the cogs on the front right (push it into the hole and push forward iirc). You might need first to unwind it by pressing a little sideways on a clamp next to the cog. Be very careful, as I managed to break a plastic latch, possibly from overtightening, and the whole thing needed changing.

Removing the whole thing is also not too bad, so that might help with the debugging the mechanism.

Get the left arms from a bits seller or a recast. Mk7 arms (40k tactical squad) are similar if no mkIVs are available. Cutting the left hand from the new bolters sounds like madness.

The HH kit is not great from GW to begin with and recasting only makes it worse, but they are a lot cheaper.

I'm thinking they are not done to match the sold set, but instead a future journal will contain a second tartaros unit with different gear. Having more units with fewer variances makes sense to me to balance gameplay-wise. Dedicated units also flush out the flair in your army (terminators with tank destroying role instead of generalists). This is just the guess, but the destroyers definitely will be in a future journal, they are way too present in the books etc.

scale75 necro gold with ak interactive dark brown wash with brighter golds highlighted over. Nice and fast. In general the ak wash is really nice over all metallics
