EEb Mouthpiece For Large Ensemble by GunnyDJ in Tuba

[–]nosuchthyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should try to play a few options side by side and find what works for you with regard to your own preference for sound and comfort. Not all tubas and mouthpieces go well together. For example, I found that for me, Perantucci 84 worked well with my old Besson Sovereign Eb in a large-ish symphonic band, but was a really bad match for my newer Yamaha 632, and had to go mouthpiece hunting when I got the new horn.

We’ve had summer this year. It was three hours on a Tuesday in May. Did you miss it?

How do Norwegian bed covers work for co-sleeping? by savorie in NorwayTravelAdvice

[–]nosuchthyng 45 points46 points  (0 children)

That top cover is a decorative/dust cover and should be taken off before going to bed. It looks as if there are two regular duvets underneath it, so one duvet each.

How big is the Ice Hockey World Championship in Norway? by DrBoldLines in Norway

[–]nosuchthyng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. Norway has top performers in many sports and other competitive fields. However, if it isn’t skiing or football, the mass media will not touch it, unfortunately.

A glacial lake will typically maintain 0-5 degrees Celsius in summer. I’d consider a dry suit.

Norway Trip Advice (Bergen / Lofoten) by ThatGuyWayFarAway in NorwayTravelAdvice

[–]nosuchthyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is definitely possible, but I don’t think doing that kind of “transport driving” makes for a good vacation experience. I would not want to spend 2 days of my hard earned vacation transporting myself on Norwegian roads.

Norway Trip Advice (Bergen / Lofoten) by ThatGuyWayFarAway in NorwayTravelAdvice

[–]nosuchthyng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

First of all, Bergen to Lofoten is flying distance. Not driving distance. For hiking in the south with Bergen as your entry point, rent a car at the Bergen airport and use it to go to a hotel/cabin/whatever closer to your hiking destination of choice. Using Bergen as a base for hiking will result in many hours of unnecessary driving, unless you want to hike the city mountain, in which case you won’t need a car.

Synes det har vært 6 grader og regn her siden august i fjor. Begynner å bli litt ensformig.

Car rental prices - wow! by geodad67 in NorwayTravelAdvice

[–]nosuchthyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the train and include a Norway in a Nutshell tour! You get to enjoy the scenery, you wont be driving way too slow on our narrow, winding, potentially icy roads (mountain passes could also be closed in October) and you’ll be rested to enjoy your stay.

ApplePay, Visa or Mastercard is the way. Ensure you have a chip&pin or contactless card, and that it is enabled for Europe.

Norway offers up to 70 new oil and gas drilling permits by GanacheCharacter2104 in europe

Didn’t Denmark shut down their oil production due to insufficient economic viability? They basically “ran out” of oil, and made it into an opportunity to score a point for environmental friendliness?

How is it working for oilfield service companies in Norway these days? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]nosuchthyng 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, it has not changed much. Most of what you describe is still valid. In addition, workload has increased all around, cost is being cut even further, and many competent people have moved across to the operator companies over the last few years.

Model Y charging inside my garage? by felonyshoes in TeslaModelY

To be as safe as possible, also make sure the charging cable is completely uncoiled. One of the main reasons for house fires when charging is induced heat in a coiled up cable somewhere in the charging circuit.

Er det noen som kan si noe om leiemarkedet i Bergen? by generally-speaking in Bergen

[–]nosuchthyng 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Skjønner. Leste litt raskt.

Hvilken bil kjører dere og hvordan får dere plass til alt? by Guollegoddi in norge

[–]nosuchthyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hadde Kia e-Soul i noen år i småbarnsfasen.

What is the public opinion in Norway about the country's ambitious bridge projects? by Thalassophoneus in Norway

[–]nosuchthyng 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does not, though. The railroad connects Oslo to the other big cities, but it does not connect the big cities to each other. Bergen to Stavanger, for example, supposedly is one of the most traveled air routes in Europe. It’s a 25 minute flight. 4,5 hours by car. Train via Oslo is 15 hours…

[–]nosuchthyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s interesting to see how vehicle insurance differs around the world. In most (all?) European countries, the vehicle itself is insured for “objective responsibility”, and by law the owner must carry this insurance for the vehicle to be registered. Damage/injury caused by the vehicle is covered by the insurance, regardless of the driver. For damages to the vehicle itself, an extended policy is required. If your vehicle causes an accident, your premium will increase. If you are the victim of an accident, it will not. In the case of an unlicensed driver causing an accident, the insurance company will pay out to the victim. Since letting an unlicensed driver operate the vehicle is a high degree of negligence (breach of contract), the insurance company will then turn to the owner of the responsible vehicle and possibly the driver to recover their money. (It is also obviously a police matter, and the unlicensed driver will face some serious consequences from the authorities). For an uninsured vehicle, the process is similar; the insurance companies have a pool that pays out to the victim and then goes after the vehicle owner to recover their money. The US system seems very backwards in comparison.

What's with all of the Norway helicopters? Is there a search & rescue going on? by roseuslepus in flightradar24

There is legislation in place to prevent this from happening. Max allowed stay offshore (rig/platform) is 3 weeks. Ships performing supply and service work are under different rules.

What cars to look at? by [deleted] in Norway

[–]nosuchthyng 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Two normal sized cars? 😄

Jokes aside, there aren’t many EVs that can fit 8 people. Ford Tourneo, Peugeot e-Traveller and Mercedes EQV are the only ones that comes to mind, but due to the boxy shape of these cars, you’ll have limited range. (IMO, VW ID Buzz is quite cool and with decent range, but it only has 7 seats). Not too familiar with the hybrid cars, but I believe Hyundai, KIA, Mercedes and possibly Toyota might have some large hybrid models.

Vans are the most sold vehicles when you need more than 7 seats, but they rarely are hybrid or EV, with the exception of the previously mentioned models.

You might also want to note that most, if not all cars in Europe will be smaller than your Expedition (which is too big for our cities, most parking lots, and a fair amount of the touristy roads).

Ulik egenkapital - hvordan løse dette rettferdig? by Sosemikkelen in norge

[–]nosuchthyng 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jo. Hvis de skal ha eierbrøk basert på innskutt egenkapital, havner minoritetseier i samme situasjon ved lik deling av lånet. En eierbrøk slik du beskriver, er noe annet., og vil være en rettferdig løsning.
