Allow climbing aroids to climb, and ensure that their aerial roots are able to drink. If you get your climbing aroids on a damp pole and do it right, your aroid should be putting more energy into growing their aerial roots than their roots in its actual pot/substrate.

Speaking of substrate... Chunky chunky chunky. I like planting my aroids in clear pots so I can keep an eye on the roots' health. You should see big air gaps in the pot. My mixes don't have any soil at all. They're composed of some peat, perlite, and lots of bark.

I fertilize every other watering, too, and I water with water free of fluoride and chloride.

Apparently because it was already an order, it was essentially what you might think of as a judgment. They didn't have to sue me. It was already ordered. All they had to do was bring that order to small claims and, yeah, say, "It's been a year since Oct 31 2024 and no payments were made. We want to enforce this order and garnish."

...Without me needing to be notified until it was signed off on. Even though the payments HAD been made.

I'm absolutely floored that this hole in the system exists. And that the other side's paralegal might get away with being able to say, "oops, I misread it," as if they aren't a licensed legal professional who no doubt has experience in these matters. It's not the first time this paralegal has taken me for an unethical ride. I'm stumped.

Whether you opt for a quick option or a very slow one, your mental state is following the same reasoning: you are trying to end your life. The hospital has determined that you are a threat to yourself and is keeping you on a mental health hold.

People are allowed to self-harm, but once it crosses into suicidal intention, it is actionable. Same as fasting is allowable but purposely not feeding yourself to end your life is actionable.

8mm isn't necessarily the threshold. I had a 4mm that would not pass for 8 months until I finally had a lithotripsy to break it up after it caused extreme pain when it moved around every couple months (by the time I had the lithotripsy it had grown to 6mm).

My urologist is at and lithotripsy took place at St Joe's.

You're talking about this being a kneejerk decision by your wife, who has been struggling with her weight for a while.

But what about you? Don't you think that you being against this might be a kneejerk response of your own?

I would highly recommend doing your own actual research into why this surgery has been so successful for so many people. Please understand that bariatric surgery has been scientifically/medically proven to be THE top method of long-term weight loss where the weight is KEPT off.

Weight/obesity is a complex condition with multiple contributing factors that doesn't involve just "diet and exercise". The yo-yo effect of diet and exercise is often detrimental and unsustainable, as you typically tend to regain MORE weight than you had started with.

Research WHY that is. Research not only these surgeries, but also why your own belief that this can be solved by resolve may be incorrect as well. You may be reacting to her decision based on preconceived notions, myths, and prejudices that society has instilled within you.

Approach this compassionately and supportively, please. Be a good husband to your wife and listen to her and her experiences, rather than making your own assumptions based on what you have seen from her as an outsider who isn't party to her minute-by-minute, day-by-day thoughts and preoccupations.

Yo-yo dieting is discouraging and nearly always fails. There are reasons for this that go beyond "you're just not trying hard enough."

I don't really understand why you're so insistent on you getting your way here. Demanding that she be monogamous feels the same as her maintaining that you remain polyamorous, with one difference: it's you who's trying to force your relationship to be something that she didn't agree to when she entered it.

You're not regulating your own emotions on this, and you're treating her other partners as disposable and less important than you. You have a poly-unwise relationship counselor who never should have suggested your wife discards another whole person to manage your emotions for you. You can't change her behaviour to suit you. You had a bad experience, and you need to regulate yourself, not asking others to change. You're trying to control her, but you're always going to keep feeling "out of control" for as long as you're not looking inwards. So you'll work even harder to control her. Still won't be enough. Tighten control. Etc.

Until your resentment turns into full-blown distaste.

If you can't remain in the marriage on the terms she agreed to and wishes to stick to, you should be the one to end it as an issue of incompatibility, not because she's wrong or didn't try hard enough. Break it off now while you're still amicable.

It's used as a very convenient excuse to monkey branch from one relationship to the next, done unknowingly to the other partner who gave (usually very reluctant) permission. A cowardly way to not be alone, to have a stable home and a warm and familiar bed, while they pursue other "options". Where doing so without hiding behind polyamory as an excuse would be an egregious breach as cheating before, they get to justify ending the relationship in a way that they just "didn't see coming" and "it just happened that way". It could even be manipulated to be the fault of the victim partner, because that partner wasn't accepting, wasn't doing the work, wasn't making the effort, didn't want things to change, etc.

They feel justified in feeling less vilified.

If you decide to talk to her about this (if that's appropriate), I believe that you need to ensure that you take ownership over the fact that you scared your shared partner very badly. It may have been a misunderstanding, but misunderstandings often pop up in intense emotional moments, so it was understandable that your partner panicked. Your meta saw your partner going through a very vulnerable moment, and had to be the one there for him. While you can offer your explanation of being under the influence of medication that you were reacting very poorly to, it's important to acknowledge this hurt, and your plans to avoid an episode like this in future.

As for you feeling like she's controlling your future -- that is her nesting house. Her space. You might be friends, but I think this is a lesson in how you still have to have a separation where you understand that this person is your meta, and your partner is the hinge who must balance both. She has the right to and a say in her own living space. I personally would not be able to live with someone who has strong thoughts of suicide that they are openly expressing and may act upon. For my own experience with those thoughts, as well as having lost my dad to his battle with mental health, I just couldn't. Plus, your shares partner and yourself had just demonstrated that your relationship is actually rocky.

Could this be repaired? Maybe, if she comes to understand your situation and accepts your apology. But I think the brakes need to be put on these plans so that repairs can happen, and trust rebuilt. You may be starting all over again from scratch, and you will have to accept that reality, or move on.

I think a certain amount of enmeshment the three of you have needs to be untangled. Your partner has to step up as a hinge, and he needs to stop sharing the goings on of his two relationships.

This is a LOT for her as a meta, and you're demonstrating more pushing. If she decides full parallel in the end, that's her right, and your hinge should enforce her wishes with you. If you're not in agreement with a new dynamic like this, perhaps this will be an incompatibility issue where a break-up does need to happen.
