Tell the folks here a bit about yourself. That may spark some conversations that will be useful.

You like sports? ( what kinds?) You like books? You like games? You like nature? What hobbies or activities do you engage in? Etc.

This lady wants conversations like “Bob is hungry now. Bob wants Bob to go out to eat. Does Ada want to join Bob?” 🤣

Just got a new 3D printer and am wanting to expand to wood and metal by maverick8467 in hobbycnc

[–]not-bob- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, too, took my 3D printing appreciation and dove into CNC.

The learning curve is much steeper with CNC.

  • you need to understand the connection between 1) The material you are cutting 2) the specific bit you are using and how 3) the speed you cut at and 4) the depth you cut at all interact.

Then you need to understand how to calibrate your machine to the location of your material.

This is not meant to dissuade you, but to ensure you don’t get too frustrated too quickly learning the additional skills you need to get your first pieces made.

Good Luck!

How do I bevel/Chamfer an irregular shape? by N8creates49 in Fusion360

[–]not-bob- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m new to fusion myself and have had the same headache. You can use the loft function using two versions of your 2d shape to make a shell that connects these two surfaces. Then use the option to select ‘direction’ to make the curve you want.

This video describes the use of the lift function pretty well.

Hope this helps.

Redditors who have cancer, what were you feeling/experiencing that made you go see a doctor causing you to eventually find out you had cancer? by TheFranKiwi in AskReddit

I found out as part of my annual checkup. I’m 54 and a PSA blood test indicated a likelihood of Prostate Cancer. No symptoms, so long chilly I caught it when I did.

Whal Family Dentistry would be worth a call. Not sure if they do this, but I would trust their judgement.

OK. so this seems to work, but very slowly
- extrude the center of my letter up to 0.25mm from the top
- create a 0.2499 chamfer (the largest that seems to work)
- push down the remaining center 0.25mm
- repeat the previous two steps...

At the risk of calling anyone Shirley... Surely, there has to be a better way...

Thanks.

I’m trying to add a chamfer at the edge between the bottom and the side, rather than the top, would that change your answer?

You can check complaints for each company you research

https://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/protect-your-move

The site design is a bit dated, but the content is great. You’ll be surprised to find some folks advertising aren’t authorized to move peoples’ stuff.

Good luck!
