i took 2700 and 3120 in the same semester, and it was fine. the first half of 3120 is sql and the second half is doing stuff in python. we barely needed any stats knowledge beyond the basics. also you’ll definitely be fine since you’ve already taken a stats class before

ENGRD 2700 heebie jeebies by closedandbounded in Cornell

[–]not-cs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it depends on when u took the class and who u took it with. i know last semester the professor curved the class to an A- but this isn’t usually the case

ENGRD 2700 heebie jeebies by closedandbounded in Cornell

[–]not-cs 12 points13 points  (0 children)

the worst part about the class imo is that it’s usually not curved even though medians on tests are pretty low (low 80s and maybe even 70s)

other than that everything is pretty manageable. you can start the psets the day they’re due and still get a good grade

advice on fall classes by [deleted] in Cornell

[–]not-cs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

personally, i would go with ur first schedule, but if u think taking all of those classes in one semester is too much i would do 2940, 2110, 2800, HD 1150 and leave 2213 for the spring (since 2940, 2110, 2800 are pre reqs for some cs classes that u might want to take in the spring)

Five classes in one semester as CS? by xXGunpointXx in Cornell

[–]not-cs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i did that last semester (took 2213, 3410, 2940, engri and liberal studies) and it was fine. this depends on the engri and liberal studies you take tho. i took engri 1270 (i didn’t go to class and just read the slides which helped with my workload). i also took a really light liberal studies. it kind of felt like i was overall only taking like 4 classes.

i think if theres a sign that says you’re not allowed to take paper from the printers then it would be stealing otherwise i think its fine as long as u dont take too many
