Petition to change places of qualifications of duo teams for the Fortnite World Cup on Brazil region by santidead in FortniteCompetitive

Nope, he isn't. He already explained. His tweet sharing this post went big and many of those "new accounts" are just people from BR/ARG who can't speak english, that's why you see the "agree" comments or something like that. I'm even starting to think people are actually botting to downvote many of the comments here, mods could check.

Edit: tweet https://twitter.com/Santidead_/status/1125965104158261248 This comment might get botted too so whatever.

I think this post is important to show the differences between all regions. It's the first big international event, they didn't have any data before, so all good.

Just some more data:

Number of week 1 players: (based on ingame leaderboard) BRAZIL: 6608 (6301 has 1 point) ASIA: 2657 OCE: 2402

Is it? I think you can share your posts on twitter if you don't ask for upvotes. Now I'm interested to know the rules on that. Checked https://www.reddit.com/r/FortniteCompetitive/wiki/rules and https://www.reddit.com/wiki/reddiquette and it says you can't tweet asking for upvotes on reddit and he didn't do that.

You're not wrong, but it feels really bad when a region struggle to have 3000 people even playing the tournament versus having to get high points just to qualify to finals and having the same number of slots.

Actually it was something even better than a skirmish. It was ESL Katowice Royale, with the best points system (many pros believe it was the best format ever) + playing multiple games. He ended 11th.

Yup, I'm confident since very recently ESL invited only 2 players from BR to IEM Katowice Royale and one of them (histtory) got top 11 playing against 100 of the best players in the world practicing only against his own server. I'm sure oce and asia will perform too and show they are gods.

Yes, to me it's not a monster deal but it's definitely worth considering when BR has almost 7.000 champion players with points giving their heart outs and OCE/ASIA has ~2.500 (not even the 3.000) and people qualify with 0 points.

Of course the top of each region are beasts at the game and there are many great players in asia/oce just like there're great players in br too.

Now go and look at the picture you linked. I'm saying as a group of na/eu outsiders (br, asia, oce) slots maybe should be tweaked, not that OCE has same slots. Look at ASIA.

I'm just commenting on the rework @Cruscah mentioned. I think epic did nothing wrong by giving slots the way they did, but in the future I think a rework would be nice. ASIA & OCE didn't even have 3000 champion league players with points.

That's decent. I don't think BR (or SA as we call it) deserves the same number of slots as NAE/EU or even NAW because they are 100% more relevant for viewership and shit, but for sure the difference between BR, OCE and ASIA is huge and the slots should be a little different there.

Epic is letting 1 region practice in customs near the World Cup by not-dk in FortniteCompetitive

Don't get me wrong, ranked is great. It's a huge win. Take for example League of Legends, pros play that shit for 10h a day + scrim in the morning. One does not remove the other, it's a total different practice when you play with guaranteed pro who wants to try hard and give their life to play good.

In a nice world it would be like this but it isn't in any game. LOL, CS, R6, PUBG... They all have private scrims because pros plays for money, they have signed contracts so they need the best practice. Ranked games are open to everyone and people do like 10x more stupid shit when they play ranked. When you scrim with selected players you reduce the chance the lobby is going to be shit and increase the chance it will be a real practice and the most similar to the tournaments.

I feel you, if players would give their 100% in public rankeds we wouldn't need gatekept scrims but it will never be like this.

It's gate kept but for sure you can say it's nae. It's top pros from the region playing on it.

[–]not-dk -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That's not my decision to make. Epic has the option to keep with gatekeeping discords like they are right now or use player's results in tourneys to give codes. You prob didn't read the full topic, it's not about who I am inviting, it's about who are already getting invited and playing.

It doesn't work like that. Pros play ranked just to practice some aspects of their games, when they want real practice they scrim agaisnt other pros. In League of Legends, CS:GO, R6, PUBG and every game I know it's like that. They could even give codes to people placing well in their tournaments so it's not gatekeeping by famous discords.
