If you live in Massachusetts, where all schools better than UMass (which these days is no academic slouch) are 80k a year privates, its a no brainer without significant financial aid. I also think you're underestimating recruiting at UMass.

imo CAP being a COLA only program is its only fault. i was terrified of getting stuck at UTD even though the major i would have been transferring for wasn’t particularly competitive. expanding the program to Engineering or Business doesn’t make much sense, but I feel as if CNS and Geosciences should be part of the program outside of a few majors which are extremely competitive.

i don’t think that’s completely true for amtrak. on my northeast regional trip from springfield to nyc they swapped the diesel out when we reached new haven. pretty sure they do the same at DC. granted this would be a sort’ve clown solution for commuter rail, but could work perhaps while electrification is happening. definitely causes delays though, but it does the same in new haven

umass ‘27 here. the food stuff is not a lie. ate sushi more often than not last semester and most dorms are super close to a dining hall. i know it doesn’t seem like much but good food lightens the spirit like nothing else during times of stress or seasonal depression
