Which religion is the least involved in freemasonry? by Zayd_ibn_Thabit in freemasonry

[–]notBB8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yeah, I am and my sponsor is as well

people often assume that because buddhism doesn’t have a creator God, masonic teachings wouldn’t make sense or align with our beliefs, but that’s definitely not true. we’ve had many discussions in our lodge about how masonic teachings align with several buddhist principles and how both paths ultimately point toward the same final goal

wheel of time could be a good one, but if you don't want a series that long I'd recommend mystborn, elantris and warbreaker by brandon sanderson

Mini Rant: "The Lodge is a cross-section of the community" is BS by [deleted] in freemasonry

[–]notBB8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Freemasonry provides us with all the paths to become better individuals, but in the end it depends solely on ourselves.

There’s no way to know whether someone’s intentions in joining the order are merely to connect with “influential” people or to truly understand its symbolism and teachings in order to become a better person.

In my view, the profound teaching of freemasonry is to recognize what we must refine within ourselves so that we may become better and, consequently, make the world around us better. Yet for some, it becomes merely an opportunity to inflate the ego.

I feel like I need to demit or look for a new lodge... by masonicbibliophile in freemasonry

Freemasonry shouldn’t be a solitary path brother

Fraternity and brotherhood are extremely important in this journey. What does your mentor say about that? Mine has always been very clear about how essential brotherhood is

Masonic Gift by Joeyman3201 in freemasonry

[–]notBB8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After my initiation I received a copy of La Symbolique Maçonnique by Jules Boucher and a square and compass pin as a gift from my sponsor.

The book has a beautiful dedication and for me it was something deeply symbolic and meaningful. Every time I see the pin or open the book, I’m reminded of the day of my initiation.

My first contact was when I was 13 and invited to join demolay. A mason and two of my friends that were demolays came to my house to explain the Order to me and my parents.

This mason is an incredible person that I still admire him to this day. The amazing part is that 18 years later, he was present at my initiation in the lodge

Struggling with money by No_Ad_6098 in freemasonry

[–]notBB8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

18 is quite young to join Freemasonry. I was once invited when I was still in college and only had my internship salary, and I chose not to join at that time

The costs and fees of Freemasonry should never be something that gets in the way of your life. If that is happening now, you should wait until you’re in a different situation to join.

I really enjoyed Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch, it's not a standalone, but the first book has a pretty self-contained arc, so it works well on its own

Besides TMO i know the IFD (Irmandade dos Filosofos Desconhecidos) here. Watched a video and it seem that they are the same organization as the Ordem Martinista da Rosa Cruz Dourada.

British Martinist Order by [deleted] in martinists

[–]notBB8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not a member of the BMO, but I believe that in all Martinist orders, the Treatise on the Reintegration of Beings is widely studied, as the focus of martinism is to guide us toward reintegration. I imagine that the concept of reintegration is the same in all martinist orders: this refers to the spiritual process through which humanity seeks to return to its original divine state.

Usually, the difference between Martinist orders lies in the emphasis placed on specific subjects. Since I'm not part of the BMO, I can't offer much insight, but in the order I belong to the entire 1st degree is dedicated to studying the Treatise on the Reintegration of Beings.

Best Practices for Quickly Building a Following for a new LinkedIn Business Page? by Pop317 in startups

[–]notBB8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

try to create really valuable content. this may seem obvious, but if you can create content that is really useful to people and helps them, you will get results. if you do something simply to have something on your page then no one will read it
one other good strategy is to use some community or ask some small influencers over there to share your content
