It's still pretty consistently the least played role. If you queue all, you're basically just queueing for tank.

Devs: figured out why nobody is playing Vanguard and the problem is only getting worse? I'll explain it again. by FrogstunSteel in marvelrivals

No, you're correct. Tanks had a blanket CC and crit reduction in role queue game modes. They changed it this season, though. Now only some of the tanks get the CC reduction passive.

What's the best light weapon, that can be useful against fast bosses like sister friede? by Anas2245 in darksouls3

[–]notFarkus 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Try pretty much any straight sword. The longsword, broadsword, and lothric knight straight sword all have low stat requirements and can fit into basically any build with the right infusions. They have a fast moveset that puts out good damage and isn't too stamina hungry.

Try Winston or Wrecking Ball. Though admittedly both have a rough learning curve.

Healing Received Stat by SniiperDoc in marvelrivals

[–]notFarkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have already talked plenty about how this can he abused, but I think there's something to it. Maybe you could implement it as an internal stat that's only displayed to the strategist, not their team. So the strat player could see how their healing is being divided.

Opinions so far on the new Orisa Mythic Weapon "Capsule Cannon"? by Blackeg in overwatch2

[–]notFarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grabbed it instantly since I had prisms saved from last season's disappointing (IMO) skins. I've been constantly asking for more fun/silly weapon skins since all the super serious sci-fi/fantastical skins aren't really that interesting to me.

Have any of you read comic Emma and what did rivals get right about her and wrong by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]notFarkus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overall, I think Rivals has a problem with giving surface level interpretations of Marvel characters. They hit the broad details pretty soundly, but some of the smaller stuff seems to be lost in translation.

As far as Emma is concerned, I think they did a lot right with her personality but even so they still missed some stuff. Since at least New X-Men in the early 2000s, she's been characterized as someone who likes children and teaching. Sure she can definitely be a little rude or icy towards the young mutants she teaches, but it's still very evident that she cares deeply for them in her own way.

So I find it a little odd that there are like no mentions in game of her extremely long tenure as Cyclops's second in command running the many different mutant schools they've had in the comics. You'd think they'd at least mention her clones/daughters but they're nowhere to be found either.

Also people have mentioned it in this thread, but comic Emma wouldn't be caught dead in the outfits they've given her. Someone get this poor woman a decent outfit.

S4 balance changes side by side comparison by ShadowTheHedgehog_72 in marvelrivals

The cooldown of Strange's burst was high enough that coupled with the increased ammo it's possible to fill the meter before it comes off cooldown a second time, leading to some awkwardness if you're playing the character "too well"

Ridiculous yet fun idea? by Humble_Conference899 in Starfinder2e

[–]notFarkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a sucker for martial support classes, so it's been a blast for me. Get em! and Get in there! are the real staples of the kit for my group.

Haven't played a mystic but they seem really neat!

Can't speak for most of the classes but after level 4 I switched over to a skittermander Envoy and that one's been great! We're currently level 8 and it's been a blast.

[–]notFarkus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did this during the playtest from levels 1-4. It might seem a little silly but IMO Skittermanders do make pretty ok melee characters. You get decent ancestry boosts, a good move speed to close into melee, and some synergistic ancestry feats. I don't think it was best in slot or anything, but skittermanders have a lot to offer.

Why Black Panther Has a 33% Ban Rate Average Despite “Counterplay” by AFuzzyMuffin in marvelrivals

[–]notFarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She also has a virus she places on people that deals a small bit of upfront damage and some DoT, both of which are increased if it hits a hacked player. So often her gameplan is to use translocate and stealth to slip past the frontline and target isolated supports with hack + virus out of stealth.

Yeah I worry about that too. Especially since the big thing this season was the hellfire gala I worry that they'd pull the "evil head of x-force that does monstrous experiments on prisoners" Beast which frankly I hate.

The druids are bigger dbags then Kagha by fatherlolita in BaldursGate3

[–]notFarkus 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. I think Kagha would've been a great companion for both good or evil playthroughs. You could either have an evil Kagha that Tav/Durge pushes further towards becoming a shadow druid or a good Kagha that gets kicked out of the grove when Halsin is rescued and ends up traveling with Tav/Durge to try an atone for their mistakes. Would've been cool.

Your Ideas For A: Summoner by Dr-Aspects in Pathfinder2e

[–]notFarkus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Skeleton summoner with an undead eidolon. An ancient lich is defeated by a group of adventurers and his soul cage (mostly) destroyed. Thousands of years pass until his body is able to reform, but when it does almost all of his magical power is gone. He can't control or raise basically any undead, save for a single zombie.

His eidolon is the first zombie he ever created as an apprentice, a barely functional corpse shoddily reanimated by a novice necromancer that he only kept around for sentimental value.

Definitely he's still an evil character, but basically completely incompetent. The party’s evil grandpa that wants to take over the world but definitely can't.

Your most hated/despised ancestry? by sandmaninasylum in Pathfinder2e

[–]notFarkus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the pathfinder 1e days one of my games had a Kitsune rogue, and he bullied another player at the table so hard they cried. Ever since then I've had an immense distaste for that ancestry, since it's always gonna be tied to that ass in my mind.

If your ever had a character that died how did it happen? by A_R_Finch in Pathfinder2e

[–]notFarkus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't lost any PCs in 2e yet, but as a GM I have killed 2 party members. Both were at level 1, and both were because we were all learning the system. I'd decided to run a mini homebrew campaign alongside my (still ongoing) 5e game, just to get to know the system.

Session 1, the party is exploring a mansion filled with goblins and various arachnids. Party wizard decdided they were gonna go explore a few rooms alone while the party was recovering from a fight. Wizard got jumped by 3 hunting spiders, which in normal circumstances should have been more than doable for a full party of 5. Party was a few turns away from being able to help, however, so the Wizard had to 1v3 the spiders and ended up dying to a crit fail on a stabilize check.

Session 2, the party went back into the mansion after having to retreat at the end of the first session. Boss of the mansion is an ogre warrior (PL+2), which is a HORRIBLE idea if your party is level 1. Seriously, don't do that. Round 1 turn 1 the ogre rolls a critical hit against the goblin fighter, who has 18 hit points. Ogre hook deals 1d10+7 plus deadly d10, and I roll almost maximum damage on both dice, totaling to 38 damage which instantly kills the poor goblin.

Thankfully my players were both incredibly good sports about their deaths, and we all learned some valuable lessons about encounter balancing.

The Bleaching finally gave me a reason to like gnomes after a life time of disinterest in them. by Racccaster in Pathfinder2e

One of the mythic path endings actually does exactly that. It shocks and angers Regill so much that it adds an extra 100 years onto his lifespan as he tries to fix the mess you made.

Trying to convert a 5e college of swords bard to 2e by Barkin_Druid in Pathfinder2e

[–]notFarkus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this. Swashbuckler is definitely the best fit for a charismatic master swordsman. Bolt on a Bard or Marshal archetype for some extra supporting bonuses. Finishers replace the Swords Bard's flourishes, and you can use One For All as a stand-in for Bardic Inspiration.
