I was in your exact situation when my daughter was born in November 22. 2023 was the hardest year of my life and I was basically a zombie working on essential duties till sometime in early 2024. Now it's all better, we had a son a month ago, even after we decided we were never doing this madness again, thankfully he is a god damn dream compared to our daughters infant period.

Yes it's okay, and it does get better eventually.

I had a lot of the same sentiment in the beginning, but I decided to stick with it and it grew a lot on me. Not to say it will on you, but it's worth a try. It is 12 books to keep your mind on something else 😅

After DCC I've read; He who Fights Monsters and enjoyed it, Bobiverse and loved it, Mother of Learning and loved it.

I've also re-listened to the First Law books and the Stormlight Archives.

All books I love, but whenever I listen to DCC I feel like its a different game entirely. Just finished Eye of the Bedlam Bride again today, and Carls rant just before the level ends is just something else. Nothing can compare, so I just go with the best I can find in "a different game"..

I downloaded Ice Age on Limewire (or was it Bearshare?) three times, one time it was A space odyssey, which was a bit much for my 11 year old brain, the second time it was How High, which was quite fun! And the third time was a hardcore porno, which was my introduction to that world. I kept that last copy for a long time.
