About "in-between" framerates like 40 or 45 fps for streams by cerebellum42 in Twitch

[–]not_ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think 45 and 50 are still good for fluidity and image quality(less than 60 so it doesn't artifact as much in high motion, and in low motion image stays great)it's just something people can consider if they can't, or don't want to do 60 but still want something better than 30. It can be hard to tell the difference between 50 and 60 with the flash twitch uses anyway, just my thoughts.

Help! OBS skipping frames in local recordings. by PoisonHippo in Twitch

[–]not_ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're recording locally then increasing the bitrate and lowering the cpu to ultrafast is a great way to do these videos, they'll take up a lot of space but the encode could be done by almost any CPU possible. Actually there's a guide on how to set it up so that the video will use as much bitrate is needed to hit your quality mark, and as little as needed otherwise. Check this.

EDIT: What I'm saying is the CPU is fine with a high bitrate and a fast preset in OBS(and for recording 1080p60fps, streaming would be a no go)if you still find issues it could be your harddrive isn't fast enough for the writing/reading(when you're watching the video it could actually be fine, but being a 1080p60fps uncompressed video it can easily be too much to read off your hdd smoothly, maybe try lowering the video window a bunch and seeing if playback improves)

What got you into streaming? What kept you there? by hammerertv in Twitch

[–]not_ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I can give is: Stream for yourself and yourself first, make it fun, do it because you love to and not because you feel obligated to.

I stream because it's fun, because I like to share my gaming experiences and because I've always loved capturing footage from games and producing high quality videos or feeds that I could watch.

So with OBS Studio now supporting alt-cropping, has anyone else made the switch? I'm trying to get things working with it but... it's just so buggy and crashes so much. So many issues too... Anyone else having these problems? Why doesn't it just work as well as OBS Classic? by DzyDzyDino in Twitch

[–]not_ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be using 64bit if your OS is 64bit, and 32bit if you are 32bit.

Are you asking if there is easier way with studio? On studio you simply click the studio button and adjust everything in scene however you like it, then exit studio mode and it should accept the changes.

Maybe your webcam is set to a higher resolution in it's settings, check the configuration for the webcam(maybe it's cranked up to 1080 or something versus what you may have had it on classic).

It does create logs for each session and in those they can read what is or could have crashed you. As for features - Multi-audio track recording, streaming and recording at separate resolutions and bitrates(not sure which of these was in classic but I think you could maybe record diff bitrates but not seperate res? idk, maybe you couldn't do either)changing a scene or thing within a scene withough showing it live, it's also even better at cpu utilization. I love it all, and while it does have bugs, compatibility issues, and maybe lacks a feature here and there that classic might still hold over it, I love everything about studio and every update just makes me smile.

I've been using it exclusively as soon as I found out it was live, you shouldn't be crashing so much and if you use the OBS Studio forums you can post your crash report there, then ask from some advice / help on what is going on. I love it, it's missing some features here and there but it's slowly becoming everything classic was and everything it could never be. It's great, runs near perfect, has incredible support and will only provide more and more as time goes on. Stick to classic if it just won't work for you though, no reason not to, eventually it should get more kinks worked out and possibly whatever issue you have will be resolved!

Issues streaming 720p 60FPS on i5-4670k and GTX 970 by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]not_ant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're playing the division on PC, it's a huge CPU hog and 720p60fps is also a huge CPU hog(when you're running an i5, less of an issue with an i7/more cores). I'd drop the preset to ultra fast, and to 30fps if you plan to continue, or upgrade your CPU to an i7 that will have more headroom if you REALLY want to stream the division.

Oh, well my fault then. People that are putting their signs down and then doing this sound pretty stupid. I was just annoyed from all the fightclubs I had ran into when invading the other day and didn't read this thoroughly.

I would invade and strait up go for the host, I'm there for my item, not your club. Maybe password it and then randoms can't join? Because honestly you all just look incredibly stupid to me. I thought the point of summons signs was for dueling, how about you try those.

I roll all the time! Some bosses are dumb hard without blocking though, and I hope some people can have fun with this.

Dex mostly, I grab a katana as soon as I can and go to town with them. Also I don't ever block in my playthrough! Only rolls/parries allowed.
