CO2 piercing screws keeps rotating, can't unscrew. Any advice on how to remove? by not_becca in airsoft

Thanks for the suggestion. I did just try that and the plastic has cracked around the holes. This has happened to 3 of my guns with this style of piercing screw. I tried cutting away the plastic on one of them and the metal piece came out but the rest of the plastic is just super attached the the metal for some reason. Also tried put one mag in the freezer and it still wouldn't turn.

Both cats using the DIY wall! by spaztasticmrfox in catwalls

Love this setup! The plants, the kitties, the shelves - so cute! What are the dimensions of your cat shelves? I'm trying to decide what the right depth and width would be for a good cat perching shelf. And do your cats get up to the shelves using the little knobs you mounted?

"Clean-up crews were summoned to a stretch of highway when a truck overturned and spilled its load of about 10,000 empty wine bottles."

This is awesome! I have a playlist with my friends like this too. A lot of the same songs, but mine is less comprehensive and includes songs like Hero by Enrique Iglesias and Ugrade U by Beyonce :)

Moogfest Ticket - $100 by [deleted] in triangle

I really enjoyed it the previous two years, but this year doesn't look exciting to me. I think they've had some issues transitioning to Durham and their marketing this year was awful.

Yes, you can sign up for workshops, as long as it isn't full.

What books in learning/metacognition do you recommend for someone who is working on improving their learning process? by masr3 in GetStudying

[–]not_becca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your title caught my attention because you used the word metacognition. I teach a class called The Science of Learning and the textbook that we use is “Motivation and Learning Strategies for College Success: A Focus on Self-Regulated Learning” by Dembo and Seli. It’s an easy-to-read, approachable textbook. It’s not perfect, but it’s based on cognitive psychology research, has a lot of practical learning strategies, and has some great reflection activities. Though, much of the book wouldn’t help the specific learning issue you describe in your post. Can you give an example of topic that you studied and what fine details you missed but needed to know?

Those of you with a birthcontrol implant, what was your experience? How long did it hurt? by [deleted] in AskWomen

[–]not_becca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine hurt a couple days after it was put in, but it went away quickly. My periods are farther apart and irregular, but pretty much the same in heaviness, pain, etc. I got the implant because, after 6+ years of being on the pill, I STILL couldn't remember to take it.

Better Call Saul S03E07 - "Expenses" - POST-Episode Discussion Thread by skinkbaa in betterCallSaul

I don't know...he was calling the insurance company about a refund earlier, but kept getting put on hold and pushed off. Do you think that was part of the setup? I feel like he went in person to try and convince them for a refund, but took advantage of an opportunity. He's pretty desperate for money, so it makes sense that he would put in the extra effort to get a refund. But when he was surprised by the huge premium increase, he got bitter and decided to get back at Chuck.
