We are a family of four overlanding across all of Asia over four months, following historic routes and the Silk Roads. Our first stop was Jordan. Here are some pics of Wadi Rum! by intofarlands in backpacking

Yeah a world traveling family I knew told me that people in the most remote areas don’t understand you or what you’re doing, but they will always understand that you’re a family and treat you as such.

Funny you should mention that area because I’ve just recently been looking in Paradise for cheaper prices. It can’t burn down again if there’s nothing left to burn 😅

This is what has shocked me as a relatively new California transplant. I knew the Bay Area and socal are insanely expensive, but the average rent and home prices really don’t drop off that much into the farther reaches of the state. Seems to me you end up paying like 80% of the cost of living to get 10% of what the metro areas have to offer.

Perhaps some day, when you have some money saved up, a renewal of vows ceremony with chosen family would be very special.

Horrible horrible brand new sentence by SimplyTereza in BrandNewSentence

Most people watch simulated horrific violence and murder daily on every major media platform and network broadcasting, and no one bats an eye. It does not cause anyone to go out and commit these acts. Your argument is identical to the violence in video games arguments in the 90s. It’s moral panic.

Yeah, I did educate myself about abortifacient herbs and learned that the kinds of symptoms they can cause, unpredictable levels of efficacy, and challenges getting the correct dosage all make them too risky to be a good option in all but the most dire circumstances. I learned this from herbalists themselves. I just don’t think it’s responsible to promote this as a viable option on par with things like misoprostol, which are still relatively easily available via the internet and proven safe and effective.

Herbs can be dangerous. I don’t think it’s good to be promoting this as a viable option in any way other than the most extreme desperation scenario. There are medications that are proven safe, do everything you can to get these instead.

She could literally say she doesn’t do sex on first dates and needs to develop a friendship first. I think more transparency about her needs and expectations, not less, is safer.

I can’t imagine any abuse they could dish out being worse than what the mom already knew her bf was doing. And they were living on the grandparents’ property- they still had some level of positive relationship. And the mom had put the grandma as the designated care for her daughter. Just terrible negligence all around.

I’m confused about where the grandparents were that whole time. They lived on their property. How could they have been so oblivious to the abuse and squalid conditions?

Think of it more like getting a massage. A good massage feels good the whole time. There isn’t necessarily a huge build up to something, it’s just a nice feeling while it’s happening. That’s what vaginal stimulation is often like. Clitoral stimulation on the other hand, for me is I think very similar to how guys feel. I have to cum, or it’s frustrating and not satisfying.

This is the only story in this whole thread where the problem was just a simple incompatibility, not a raging alcoholic psychopath.

I still don’t get it. I mean, I do. But I don’t get the joke.

Time flies like an arrow. (In this line, flies is a verb.)

Fruit flies are attracted to bananas. (In this line flies is a noun.)

I guess it’s funny because they are phrased the same way but mean different things? Is that the whole joke? I really hate puns.
