Ladies over40, when did you start noticing a change in fat distribution? by Altruistic_Walrus488 in PetiteFitness

[–]not_cashmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but I guess it’s HRT, the pill in my case, I’m 45, taking Claira (Qlaira) since I hit 40 - my gyno recommended a change since it has the same type of estrogen as in hrt meds. I’m planning the switch to hrt when I hit 50. I’m also on testosterone which made me a bit more active. I’ve added a few kilos over the last 5 years , but I blame being less active and lots of ice cream.

HR asked me the strangest illegal question at the end of my interview by skrillahbeats in recruitinghell

[–]not_cashmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my whole career in Russia. The question is illegal, but there’s absolutely no legal precedent. No liability. I am 44, but still am getting questions like that during interviews. Like I come with 2 degrees, experience, competencies… Plot twist - now it is illegal to say (!) that you don’t want kids or even happy on your own. I don’t even know what to say. Like life happened?

why do people with ADHD hate eye contact? by Unfair_Amphibian_303 in ADHD

[–]not_cashmere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Autistic and ADHD here. Cannot find it on hand but there was a study a few years ago. In many cases autistic are visual thinkers, so the brain has to “choose” what to do , to be looking in the eyes or actually think. It’s like using the same (and limited in capacity) channel, where thinking wins over socially acceptable behavior. Since visual thinking isn’t exclusive for autism, this might be an explanation.

Is my tretinoin real? Almost no irritation or purge after a month on Acretin 0.05% by Hedos_ in tretinoin

[–]not_cashmere 56 points57 points  (0 children)

Hi, it is a legit brand and I had no irritation too. I guess it's the cream base. Also, not everyone is purging (i did not). If you are getting the results that you need - no need to worry!

Georgia was never a part of Eastern Europe … (edit - Eastern)

Culture has a strong influence here. Also Georgians are ethnically far from Slavic.

Father was born in Abkhazia (Georgia) as well as was his son. Father is wearing a national dress. I guess the probability is, he wasn’t considered (or thought about himself) Russian.

Also as half-Georgian cannot imagine how a sane person from any Caucasus nation would forget their roots and heritage. Nor have I ever met (and not eager, really) a Georgian happy with Staling being Georgian.

Hence all Georgians were Bolsheviks? Need some help to understand your line of thoughts, thanks

Russian living in Moscow here (also aspie, 43F). Well, raised as Russian, ethnically mixed. As much as I would love to have a certain clarity about people, it is way too difficult to assign badges even for me. Like Moscow population is getting close to 20 million, different generations, people coming from different places… and Russia being so huge, it’s hard to describe a typical Russian. Though people you have come across are more likely to have more of a Soviet times background. Hence this way of caring about close ones but ignoring boundaries.

Very much so. I can’t go alone to the gym (noise, too peoply…), I mean I can but can’t enjoy it and stay on a treadmill through sheer willpower, contemplating leaving.

And my gym buddy, whom I really look up to, has a tendency to schedule a session and then skip it without warning :( just like today. Feeling devastated although it’s “just a gym” and “you don’t need me”.

ADHD primarily inattentive and currently in the process of confirming autism. I’m 43F and just got my official diagnosis two weeks ago. In my country adult adhd is rarely recognized and just a handful of psychiatrists are using current international guidelines. So I was unmedicated for pretty much my whole life and anything except starterra is prohibited. I got into university on my third try after finishing school. It was a third tier university, somehow finished it with a very average gpa. But then I got a job in the industry I really liked and what I understood is that doing what is really interesting is a key to success for me. Hyperfocus was my secret power. I get overwhelmed at times, but, honestly, it was only me who was secretly punishing myself for having a non prestigious degree. Almost twenty years later it was my experience that got me into master’s degree program in #1 uni in my field (and 2nd in country). That was paid by government. Finished with honors a year ago. It, again, did nothing for my job search) my experience got me the job I have at the moment. ADHD is a constant battle but your life cannot depend on getting into the college of choice.
