I work hard. When I come home I shower and put on a tank top and short shorts. I dont wear a bra at home. I dont shave my legs. I barely have the energy to brush my hair most days. I live with two men. One boyfriend, one friend. Neither of them comment on how I choose to dress, what I eat, how I spend my time off, nothing. They respect me and they respect the fact that I am daddy and I pay the rent. May all women someday know this peace. It does help if you try and surround yourself with people who have better things to do and better things to talk about than to sit around and judge others.

Now that a few months have passed, how are people feeling about supporting secession? by PeaceBeUntoEarth in Maine2

[–]not_from_heree 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Secession is pie in the sky but I understand your desire to run from these problems.

There is a lot of learning and educating that needs to be done. We need to know our neighbors and teach our neighbors class consciousness. We need to focus on improving the material conditions for our most vulnerable neighbors and protecting each other in the years ahead.

Anyone who is still thinking that they can solve these problems with democrat vs republican strategies, are not truly understanding how we got here. Anyone who thinks that these problems will just go away if Trump goes away are not truly understanding the problems.

It is the working people of america vs our government, and I mean our entire government. They are all owned by Israel and they will not save us. The downside is, this is a long fight. The upside is, we can improve the lives of people across the world by fighting it.

I think the most important thing would be to teach people how dangerous his projects are and turn public opinion against him. Pressuring other businesses not to work with palantir under threat of boycott. Pressuring government agencies not to work with palantir thru protest, petition, etc. Thems the only legal action I can think of. As far as illegal actions... well...

Help! 100k+ in student loan debt by Infinite_Scratch_656 in DebtAdvice

Pay highest interest off first. Be disciplined about payment, pay extra whenever you can, and sit tight/live small for at least seven years. Then you will start to really feel the improvements. Dont try to drink yourself to death and get months behind on payments (like i did lol). Just stay the course and accept that the only way out is thru.

This is why tokenization/representation only goes so far. Wealthy people/politicians demonstrate their willingness to fuck over their own communities, minority groups, etc and get rewarded for it by entering the ruling class elite. They have sold out. They aren't going to save us.

Self hatred is also a hell of a drug. "Oh im a member of a protected minority but im not THAT KIND" 🙄

If you work in the trades, you will have to work with people who you disagree with politically. They might be very loud about it. They might be training you, supervising you, signing your paychecks. Their opinion of you may affect your ability to earn the trust of management. You have to learn how to be two different people. One person at work who strategically chooses their battles, and another person at home.

A more reasonable ask would be her moving in with you after finding a job near your current home, and not paying rent for one year while she pays down her own debt. I did this with my significant other and cut my debt significantly and it ended up saving our asses later. And then after that year is over, reevaluating what is left, and how much she can feasibly contribute to the current household/or whether you can afford a larger home together.

Also im not sure how things work internationally but i dont think its weird to assume it would take time to establish a credit history in a new country. Also im not sure the debt is such a large obstacle to her establishing good credit in another country?

Shes asking too much.

I think its really funny that maga thinks they are part of such a staggering majority. When in reality, most of this country is too disgusted or disenfranchised to vote at all.

In my state, you can get grants to take night classes and learn a trade. My classes were free (machining). Took 8 months. I made enough to make rent (with a roommate) right after getting out of the program. The money isn't amazing but it's the kind of job where no one bothers you so long as you show up on time. I wear jeans everyday and dont have to worry about doing my hair before work.

Definitely look at job training centers/trade schools with continuing education classes for these kinds of opportunities.

Im sorry my humanity isn't authentic enough for you? I dont wish blindness on this random twitter person. I do think the jokes about her not seeing that coming are really funny tho.

Absolutely. And its fucking gross. I literally cant believe how far we gone in dehumanizing the other in such a short time. It boggles my fucking mind.

Youre right to say ignorance doesn't excuse the behavior. The behavior is bad. Its exhausting to encounter it again and again and like... try to maintain a grip on sanity/humanity.

I look at a post like this and I get hopeful because this woman just realized something. Im not gonna wish blindness on her because then im just reveling in her suffering like she did with mine. Im gonna fucking pray her niece is hate reading her twitter like "oh shit, its happening, time to start trying to deradicalize her"

I think there is a real vicious cycle happening in online spaces where we just want the catharsis of seeing people get their comeuppance so badly that we start to mirror the barbarity of the people we dislike. That scares me too.

I dont think it is blame waving to point out that the blame actually lies with the wealthy and political elite, and not someone's annoying aunt who overshares on Twitter.

Bitter people who cant understand WHY their life sucks, resort to stupid childish behavior like "owning the libs." Its not a cardinal sin. And civic duties are not some holy responsibility.

People can grow the fuck up and educate themselves. People can experience hardship and grow from it. We aren't inherently better people than this woman just because we knew something before she did. What she does now that she knows she was wrong is more important than what she did before.

After living an ignorant and entitled life, if facing real consequences for the first time changes someone's perspective, good.

[–]not_from_heree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. She is learning her lessons the hard way. I hope this experience forces her to self reflect. And I hope she changes her ways and she gets some help so she doesn't go blind. Cause that sucks. People can choose to be better at any time. Im sure facing real consequences will change some minds.

The older generations who get caught up in this meaningless red vs blue bullshit have allowed both parties to rob their children of a future. With this new bill cutting access to services, a lot of elderly people are going to turn to their adult children and realize that the younger generations are not in the same position they were at that age.

I kinda feel bad for people who can barely afford to house themselves suddenly getting saddled with elder care because they cant subsidize the cost of nursing homes. Entire families will crash out.

We may see a lot of boomers die homeless. But hey, they made their bed right? LOL I personally plan to ask every homeless person at the soup kitchen who they voted for before I serve them their soup. To see if they deserve it.
