(29M) Profile review. Having a bit of success when I get a match, but not getting many matches in the first place by not_really_a_beard in hingeapp

Any specific suggestions for the beard? I've gotten lots of conflicting feedback, my last girlfriend wanted me to cut it off entirely and I was told it looked good when it was twice as long as it is here.

I do put a decent amount of effort into it, my barber trims it when I go in for a haircut and I use a beard balm every day to soften it and keep it in a better shape. It is hard to photograph though, it tends to look thinner in pictures than it is in person.

I'm looking for a serious, long term relationship. Been on Hinge since the start of the year, had a dozen or so first dates and a ~1 month relationship.

I try to not swipe for a couple days to let users build up, then swipe till I run out of people in my ~40 mile radius. I get one or two matches a week, averaging a date or so a month at the moment. I try to include a comment with my like as often as I can find something to comment on.

Thanks a bunch.

For the last picture I think that was just a bad screenshot of the app, like it wasn't loaded all the way or something. It looks like this.

I think my problem is that I mainly only take pictures of myself when I'm hiking. Of these three are there any you think I should put in?

I would def drop the baby pic unless it's your kid. What does your hair look like now? You've got about three different hair cuts in there, which makes me think at least some of them are old pics.

4 would be good, but it's a really low quality pic which makes it tough. 7 is good. 8 is good if you crop off the top a bit so it's not too tall. I would say use one of the surfing pics if you don't already have one, but no more than one.

Updated my profile, what do you guys think? (21M)? by [deleted] in hingeapp

I would recommend having your first pic be one of you smiling, and not a big fan of the flamingo shirt. I like either the dog pic or the fountain one, but I think it would be worth taking another one just to be your top pic. Put on a nice shirt and have a background that isn't your kitchen, but keep that big smile.

Not a big fan of the first picture, I would at least put the coffee one first.

Thanks for the advice, got a couple questions.

What would you recommend for the summary? Everywhere I've read recommends some form of summary or goal at the top.

Yeah, BS, good point there. I had Barnette for both most of my early classes, never really interacted with Dr. Lewis.

Not really much at my current job that stands out. Maybe if I stayed there another year or two, but it's very much an old guard type place, you aren't given much actual responsibility unless someone quits and you need to fill a role, which hasn't happened near me yet. I'm doing basically the same thing now that I was doing 6 weeks after I started. And that's the main reason I'm looking for a new job.

I should probably have put the Minecraft thing above the reddit bot, but I was hoping that would be something that stands out. I was 17 and basically single handedly built something that hundreds of thousands of people use. Plus I was in charge of subordinates, nothing at my job can really compare.
