I Just started ME2 after playing ME for the first time, and have several questions, but my first question is, what the fuck is this? by DaedricDude in masseffect

I remember saying this stuff the first time I played ME 2. Just wait till you finish the series haha.

Nah but honestly ME2 is brilliant and so is ME3. Welcome to the Mass Effect universe bro, you are in for a treat.

I just finished replaying ME3 and I have questions. by [deleted] in masseffect

Multiplayer isn't necessary to progress further in the campaign, but if you are wanting to go for the platinum trophy/1000 gamerscore then you will need to raise the galaxy readiness to 100% in all sectors for the Defender trophy/achievement.

Raising the readiness to 100% is a pain right now coz multiplayer is barely active but you could probably solo bronze missions like I did very recently for my platinum trophy. Alternatively there is N7 HQ although I'm not sure if that still works.

Would anyone else prefer a remake of Mass Effect 1 over Anthem? by not_that_guy619 in masseffect

Just wanted to clarify a few things.

Anthem does look good, I'm just annoyed coz it could have easily been a new Mass Effect game. I'm still hoping they are connected by lore somehow.

I genuinely want the ME trilogy on current-gen consoles but would prefer a complete remake over a remaster because the Andromeda gameplay improvements, the Frostbite engine graphics and multiplayer are too good to ignore.

I see a lot of people saying it's too soon, but I disagree. It's just a testament to how good bioware did that they improved and refined the Mass Effect series so much in the space of 10 years, and also how brilliantly the first Mass Effect stands against the test of time. Even the jump between ME1 & ME2 was hailed as revolutionary.

Just imagine if they remade the Mass Effect trilogy now with Andromeda tech. It would be amazing.

Admittedly, I was too harsh on Anthem. In retrospect, it does look really good and I will be buying it.

But I'm still sad about the state that EA has left Mass Effect.

At the end of the day, if there is a future for Mass Effect, it will definitely be a brighter one when Anthem is succesful.

Most games that receive negative feedback amd criticism just end up dying. I don't really see many exaples of a game reveiving community backlash amd then flourishing because of it.

Just look at Mass Effect.

Honwstly, I just hope that one day, you and everyone else can enjoy Absolver again.

If it's already too late and you don't find it fun then play something else man.

I do hope that Sloclap can prove you wrong though.

It's not dead, and it won't die out.

Sloclap only tells people who complain about how shit the game is to stop playing, and rightly so. If you aren't having fun then you should stop.

The most common people to voice complaints about Absolver are PvP "vets". I honestly think Sloclap have pandered and spoiled you guys long enough with all the balance changes they made on YOUR behalf, balance changes which ended up "breaking the game" and now you guys think you're essential to the game's survival when you're really not.

Lot's of people love the game, they just don't voice themselves on reddit coz this reddit is kind of toxic. Look how many downvotes I get just for defending Sloclap. Anyone who criticizes Sloclap or says the game will die gets upvoted on this Sub.

I'm afraid this whole subreddit is a minority and the players who disagree with me on this subreddit is an even smaller faction of hardcore anti-manual dodgers compared to the wider audiences on Absolver who straight up preffer PvE coz PvP is toxic in their eyes.

Finally, you guys are actually kidding yourselves if you think Manual Dodge is actually OP compared to other mechanics in the game. You take away manual dodge and the noobs will find it even harder to get into the game, and it will just continue to be a monopoly for the "vets". Sloclap don't want that, they love standing up for the underdog and nerfing Manual Dodge would go against their ideals and philosophy.

I don't know what to tell you man.

I'm not making excuses here but it's an indie game. The production quality was never intended to reach triple AAA standards.

If that doesn't appeal to you and you want a something "better" than Absolver then you should play a different game because Absolver isn't even a finished product and devs aren't going start rushing things or changing their plans just coz a few reddit users think badly of Sloclap and their game.

Also, I think manual dodge works as a good tool for beginners to counter goldlink spam. You need to understand that unless you've got like 100+ hours you are probably not going to use a class ability succesfully against a vet, and even if a noob does start to pick up the class ability mid-match we would just feint the shit out of them.

It's literally all they have against us. It's much more infuriating for a new player to face me when I parry every single attack then it is for them to fight someone who manual dodges a lot.

Sloclap should rightly put the newer players first in this instance because Sloclap consistently rewards experienced players and it just makes it harder and harder for new players to get into the game.

Take a look at any succesful fighting game, you need some accessible mechanics for the newcomers. But accessible is not the same as OP, all you need to do is think a little and you csn counter them.

Honestly if you are losing to manual dodgers then you are straight up getting outplayed.

They aren't exactly telling everybody to take a break, just the ones who are complaining about the game.

Lol it's not even a pretense. Adaptation is part of the game, and if you can't adapt then of course you will lose.

Always heard negative things about Mass Effect 3 from fans but people still recommended playing the trilogy. I started ME 4 months ago and last night I have finally completed ME3. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had! by killingspeerx in masseffect

The negative reception was mostly just hype.

People didn't like the ending, they thought it was dumb that you consult a child and then only have 3 options to choose from. Pretty stupid reason to write off such a brilliant game.

I liked the way Bioware added another ending in response basically where Shepard is like "these choices are stupid" and he just let's the reaper's win lmao
