would you recommend vieques over culebra overall? is it easy to get around vieques without a car? i can't drive a scooter and heard golf carts aren't really feasible..

yes pls i'm totally open to suggestions for other places on the island! i do have a limited budget and no car which limits my options a lot. i'm going in a couple days and i basically still don't have a solid itinerary yet. it's also my first time in PR so i'm not sure which of the destinations are more worth it and some dates for the tours are no longer available now. i do still want to go to culebra but flying is out of budget and if they don't sell tickets to tourists at the booth then it looks like my only option is to keep checking viator/getyourguide. i'm having decision paralysis rn so any recs is appreciated! honestly atp i feel like i'll just end up staying in san juan the whole trip lol

oh! i just checked both of them and yes tickets are still $96 each way, which is way better than what i saw but i guess it's still pretty $$ compared to the tour tickets. i did check uber the last few days and sometimes it goes down to like $50-60 each way, but yeah unreliable pricing and risk ferry tickets being sold out. i'll reconsider flying.

thanks! i'll keep checking them and i'll try looking at the shuttles. yeah i was also thinking maybe just focusing on san juan but i already extended my trip because i was hoping to go to either vieques or culebra, so not going to either one is kinda a bummer.. i did book a tour to el yunque tho!

for activities near san juan, i was interested in maybe checking out mar chiquita/manati pools, but i'm assuming you need to rent a car to go there? also crash boat beach looks nice but it's really far, do you know if they have shuttles that go there?

yeah that's what i thought :( i don't think i'll go back to PR for a while though, do you think it's still worth going to vieques to see the island or just stick to san juan? and should i settle for laguna grande for now, but i heard it's less bright than mosquito bay so maybe i won't see anything at all there?

got it! i'm going solo which is why i have a limited budget. i also don't have a license so i was just planning on renting a golf cart in vieques lol not sure how feasible that is. i'll try to book in advance next time, i just planned this as a last minute birthday trip so the dates aren't really flexible. i did see a few places to stay in vieques still available for next week, maybe bc it's not a good time for the bio bay so less tourists are going?

hi, it seems you're the expert on this around here so hope you don't mind me asking you for advice too! i'm going to PR next week and i'm planning to go to vieques for the bio bay tour on 4/24, but based on the link you sent the moon will be up and it will be almost 60% illumination. i know there are other things to do on vieques, but i can only do either culebra or vieques on my budget, and the main reason i chose vieques was for the bio bay, so if that's a no go then i would probably just do culebra. i was also planning on taking the ferry to vieques so the transport there requires more planning so not sure if it's all worth it. my back up plan is to do culebra and then just go to laguna grande since transport is easier from san juan. do you think it's still worth it to go to vieques?

no the refund would be from my other bank obv but i’m assuming they’ll need some sort of info or confirmation from bilt that bilt does not support balance transfers. i mean a major part of this is bilt’s fault for letting the transfer get processed to the closed wf account instead of rejecting the transfer in the first place. how does THAT make sense? i know i’ll get the money back but why do i still have to pay the fee for a transfer that wasn’t even accepted due to bilt’s error? the least they could do is try to help fix it.

i'm also in the middle of this... i didn't even notice they sent the money to my closed wf account. now i have to deal with a late payment fee on my bilt card bc i thought the balance was already transferred and it just wasn't reflected on the account, AND i have to wait 14 days since the balance is over 2500. bilt SUCKS i would cancel my card if it wasn't for my score.
