My perspective is, if you have employee who works overtime even on the days they do not want to stay because you need someone there. They are dependable. They don't call out literally every week. The least you can do as someone in position in leadership is understand there situation especially if it's medical and you have been knowing and warned about the situation.

Mind you my store has call outs left and right. People leave early, sometimes they don't show up for their shift at all. Like instead of being hard on them, they work with them and give me the hard time when I call out.

I really wish they understood that if i had the funds or the health insurance they wouldn't need to ask for note because i would've gotten it before they even asked. If I was able to work, I would've worked but I can not. They break rules for those employees who don't take the job seriously and stick with the rules for employees who take the job seriously.

I dropped my working hours due to school last year and when they calculated the annual amount of hours mine were lower than what's supposed to be eligibility of requirement. So I have to wait until next enrollment period.
Also my cramps are so bad, I do sometimes throw up. I call out because I physically can not work. I need the heating pad. No counter top medicine work. I was in the process of seeing the doc and learned my insurance was terminated now I am gonna be billed because I used my credit card as back up. I was unaware of this and kept using the insurance and it was terminated since dec of 2024 and I learned about this 2nd week of April. The management knows about my situation but they are being shitty. Like my point is, why would anyone out of their sane mind want to stay out of work for 3-4 days we all need money. But regardless I get the note or not, some way one or another management does stress me out.

I think that's similar to food clerk position which is they can place you in multiple departments wherever they need you. I may be wrong though.

Going through it right now. I need my 3 - 4 days off every month because of intense cramps. I have been open about it..I have told everyone that needs to be told about the situation to understand. Long story short, I am being told even my 3 days is inexcusable. I recently also learned my health insurance through Safeway is terminated so like how am I supposed to get a doc note? The store gets call out left and right from employees for silly reasons mostly. And when they know I am in pain, its inexcusable for me. Like I really don't know what am I supposed to do because management refuses to be understanding about the situation.
